the reason i posted this thread for people to see how herati women helping their families and open a restaurant for women.
This is good example for others to follow. We should support them but here we have one member got mental problem and changing it to politics.i am sure you know him.
Some videos need a bet of information for other members cus not everyone of us from afghanistan.
Whatever accent they speak is nothing to be ashamed. In fact they should be proud of it.We have Quetawal pashtuns speaking similar pashtu like kandaharis. The Momand and bajoris speak like nangarharis and kunaris.
By explaining it we will know more about others and i see nothing wrong with that.

i understand it is different for afghan women but i just want to say, that in 1977 when i was in herat and kandahar, i was always the only woman at a restaurant and was never harassed. i was treated well.

                Gadoonwal,

Nice thread, thanks. Graver is a lost soul, and believe me on this.

In answer to question about Pashtun demographic of Herat, I can tell with confidence that absolute majority of, we are not talking about just Herat city but the entire province, are Pashtuns. Pashtuns, according to my dad and other people that I know who knows every single village and corner of Afghanistan, are above 70% of the entire Herat population. There is no exaggeration. I have family there and i know it too well. Just recently Shahmshad TV made a documentary about this exact issue, and they went around the entire province and interviewed people from the city and tribal leaders. According to those Heratis themselve Pashtun are 80% of the province. Any one with good knowledge of the place will tell you this. i am sure there was a Herati member here who used to post here some while back can confirm this.

Heratis are very some of the most patriotic Afghans. Ismael Khan is indeed respected for he did serve the wellbeing of his people. We cannot simply equate him to a warlord, the kind of Dostum, Fahim, Sherzai etc.

That's the problems with your arguments; there all "Trust me ..I'm right" never substantiated with evidence. Sure you mention Shamshad, but never show the transcript or the show itself; also you don't see the flaw and how unscientific in demographic analysis something like going around "asking people" on the street rather than making a scientific demographic analysis.

There are a lot of Pashtuns in Herat, but no actual ACADEMICALLY MERITABLE SOURCE shows Herat as Majority Pashtun.

I 100% Agree, Ismail Khan is one of the few from that era who were noble and honorable. He's done a lot to benefit the well being of his people.

I never suggested that my casual comments are equvallent of any scientific. I have clearly said that since no census exist, it be best to ask someone with the right knowledge from the area. I don't need to prove anything to any one and no do I ask others to believe me, especially not you crackhead. I know for myself how many pashtuns are in Herat and so do the Pashtuns of Herat themselve. i mentioned shamshad so others can go and fine the documentary for themselves as mere eye-opener. Case closed.

Kandahar unfortunately borders your country Pukeland and is infested with Pathan agents of ISI like you. I guess things are improving not to the extent it should.
