Two years ago there was an incident in my city where Lulu hypermarket was burned down and smaller events keep happening in villages but generally they stop very quickly and they are started by greedy people who are not happy with what they have.

No the Shia thing is in Bahrain.

We are not a small Arab country we are a big country and we are not all Arabs like UAE.

    Thanks for liking the pics

South Asians are not discriminated here but there are no Afghans.

You know, I have never seen Emiratis smiling except when they are with their friends and Omanis in general are friendly people who love to talk (they won't stop talking once you get them started)

                              Oman facts:

                              1. Yalainous, who lived from 23-79 AD, is one of the earliest Roman historians to have mentioned Oman (more precisely, Omana).

                              2. In the past, Oman used to be one of the richest countries in the world, with the wealth mainly originating from the incense trade.

                              4. It is said that Ubar, the legendary city believed to be in control of Frankincense trade, got buried under the desert. The reason cited for this is that its wealth made people astray and led them away from religion.

                              5. There is a shrub in Oman, known as myrtus communis or yas. Its leaves are used for making perfume.

                              6. Oman was the home of ship building thousands of years ago, when it was mainly involved in the incense trade.

                              7. The highlands of Oman have raised irrigation system. Through it, water is carried from mountain streams. Known as the ' Aflaj Irrigation Systems', it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

                              8. Oman is traditionally known for breeding Arab horses.

                              9. Omani men can be found wearing the traditionally curved dagger, known as khanjar. Their national dress also includes the 'turban'. These are formal dresses in Oman.

                              10. Oman allowed tourists to enter its territory only at the beginning of the 1990s.

                              11. Every two years, an Omani person is chosen by UNESCO, for the most noteworthy contribution to environment. He is then awarded a prize by the ' Sultan of Oman'.

                                Is this before Islam?

If so, who said they were punished for wrong doing? Pre-Islamic Omanis/Arabs?

I don't think the Islamic texts contain any reference to them, though I could be wrong.
