I bought my little cousin a bass guitar a year ago for his birthday and an amp, too.

He is busy learning to slap.

Bass guitar is not that hard to learn and rythm guitar also.

For lead guitar you need to practice couple of years.

You will go through a phase when everybody will annoy you and ask you to stop abusing your poor guitar but be strong and proceed.
After some time it will sound nice, too. haha
