I like hunting with my tazi & my other dog. I kill bigger animals, like deer & boar with my knife. Does anyone else hunt this way?

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I agree.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Postunless it is for subsistence, I ethically object to hunting.
I tend to sympathize slightly more with animals than I do with humans.
I would gladly hunt atheists, imperialists, racists and fascists, however.Dark Vader Ghost King El Malo Camello Papa

Well that there is no necessity or valid basis to take their lives unless you need to do to so for sustenance.
wasn't that kind of obvious from my previous post?
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
deer meet tastes disgusting. come to think of it, i am no longer much of a scavenger. while we are at it, why do some people go fishing and after they catch the fish, they release it?? so getting the hook caught in it's mouth and releasing back in the water until it bleeds to death is somehow better than actually eating it??
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

1. you assume my primary purpose is amusement.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostWhat right do we have to take an animal's life for our own amusement?...... he's talking about sport hunting, even if he allegedly "eats the animal" later and uses it's byproducts, he is not driven to do so by necessity.
2. you assume my hunting is not a necessity.
1. animals do not regulate themselves & humans are the only predator that can & will regulate the animals they kill. i hunt deer because they are delicious and if left to their own devices they will overpopulate leading to mass die offs from disease & starvation both of which are less humane than a knife after the chase. as I use dogs to catch rather than a rifle from a distance it ensures the deer that get away are the healthiest & best genetics helping to ensure the overall health of the herd. of the other animals my dogs regularly hunt, boar & red fox are not native to the americas and as such they are detrimental to the health of the ecosystem and compete directly with native species. this is also true of raccoon in Utah. elsewhere raccoon are a resivoir for rabies and overpopulation results in the interaction & spread to human populations.
from a religious POV God made us responsible for caring for his creation (whether our fathers have done so is irrelevant to our own actions) and hunting is a tool for that care.
if you believe in evilution, then we've earned the right to regulate other species as we see fit.
2. 1 already covered the necessity for the wildlife of what my dogs & I do, but there is the additional necessity of doing what God/evilution made me to be which is a predator. wolves, lions, bears & other predators in captivity have shown that not acting in their role creates numerous and sever issues with their mental health. this is true for humans as well. it is imperative to both mine & my dogs mental health to act our role as predators. w/o hunting my dogs become very depressed or anxious, their best behavior is only after hunting. likewise my best emotional/mental health is maintained by taking the dogs hunting.
my opinions based on my experiences

Hunting is part of the rural Pashtun culture.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

Then why is it in sports?Originally posted by Tor Gul View Post1. you assume my primary purpose is amusement.
sports are a survival necessity?2. you assume my hunting is not a necessity.
This is a red herring; what do animals instinctual survival mechanisms have to do with deliberate human killing?1. animals do not regulate themselves & humans are the only predator that can & will regulate the animals they kill.
Therefore you already affirmed my response; this is recreational.i hunt deer because they are delicious and if left to their own devices
That's how most population cycles regulate; let their own natural selection process take course.they will overpopulate leading to mass die offs
Allah(swt) also said that animals are to be respected, and deliberately trying to injury makes the meat harram and killing it without the dhabiha process makes it harram. The only instance it would be halal is if it is for subsistence. which being that you have the amenities of modern society, clearly you're not on the brink of starvation.from a religious POV God made us responsible for caring for his creation (whether our fathers have done so is irrelevant to our own actions) and hunting is a tool for that care.
That's exactly why we shouldn't because by doing so we're disrupting the ecological equilibrium.if you believe in evilution, then we've earned the right to regulate other species as we see fit.
That argument has been debunked for decades, you're not the first to make such a claim. Since, we're at the higher peaks of the evolutionary model we no longer require such predatory behavior thus holds no evolutionary merit.2. 1 already covered the necessity for the wildlife of what my dogs & I do, but there is the additional necessity of doing what God/evilution made me to be which is a predator.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
