The success of the believer lies in his union with his brother, not on tribalistic ties and not division over geographical borders. You talk of Pakhtuns and others of our nation, while our visions lie for the Ummah at large. As Rasulullah (salallahu 'alayhi wa salaam) said, the pens have been lifted, and the pages have dried. Destiny has it that our rise is close. I am convinced and determined. Bi idnillah.

Ideology of pakistan supports concept of ummah and emphasize on unity of all muslims in the world.
What do you think about pakistani offer for "muslims" of afghanistan to join them on the basis of one ummah concept?

Luffy: That offer is easy for you to dish out and you only do so in a deriding manner. Dasi hum neda che ta wowayle au ma womanela. Either way, the masses are yet to see this foundation (of unity you speak of) being reflected in mere instances such as society affairs, let alone the country's dealings with the rest of the Muslim world. And what is with the quotation marks?

"Afghan imaan taqat awo ghairat"? As for as i know the pattren of islam followed among afghans, the deobandism is transported from bar-e-sagheer...Even talibans were students of pakistani madrassas. Dont you think that sada afghans have recently become guina pigs for testing+implementation of ideas from ulemas of indo-pak?

Only one thing is unique to afghans.....pashtunwali

It is strange but in punjab it is concept that pashtuns are wahabies.

Pashtuns are mostly hanafis of deobandi school of thought.

feroza khore this post of yours seems to be very personal. you are more enlightened than nokia, i dont find this one diffirent than the one nokia posts or luffy does. i do know that my brothers and sisters from occupied hates non-afghan citizens of afghanistan due to their great love and sympathy towards their pashtun brothers. not a single pashtun would wish to break afghanistan. after few decades of conflicts and misinformation many of us are missguided. time heals, dont make it worse. worse has happned in past, no one can deny the fact that there is a tension between afghans and
non-afghan afghanistan. the jihad was turned into the war of hatered. the worse point is that pashtun from occupied pashtunkhwah consider the non-pashtuns same as panjabies without learning about them.

really? not a single? Shadow caster voted for division of Afghanistan. either he is not a pashtoon or your statement is wrong.

my country, its stability, and its sovereignty is definitely personal to me. Those are my personal enemies who stand for its instability. I have nothing, absolutely nothing against anyone in this website, neither I am here to sugar coat this whole lar aw bar Pashtoon brotherhood. those are definitely my brothers and sisters who speak about Afghanistan's better and prosperous future (in ONE piece), regardless of their geographical location. But never will I, under any circumstance tolerate nonsense about my country's partition, regardless of their ethnic background.

any Pashtoon who has an ounce of ghairat left in him, an ounce of pashtoonwali or Afghaniat left in him will not speak ill of his country Afghanistan, those are the ones truely dear to my heart. and I am glad that such type of pashtoons are the majority in both side of the border... BUT i have absolutely nothing in common with those baigharat and be-pashto people who talk about breaking my country. Those are the ones that our country needs to be aware of ... those are the silent enemies we have... those are the ones we have to get rid of.

My country Afghanistan today stands in one piece due to countless sacrifice that Pashtoons from both side of the border have given. We have lost our loved ones to keep our pride and honor in one piece... to be able to keep our head high and call ourselves Afghans. Its a matter of great shame that some of pashtoons have forgotten what their forefathers have fought for... I have no intention to call those sold outs my own. If the current generation of pashtoons are not able to keep Afghanistan in one piece then i suggest every pashtoon should commit suicide out of embarrassment.

This is what our enemies want, this is what their agenda has been for centuries to break us... and if this happens now, then i say every Afghan/Pashtoon has to look at himself before talking of ghairat.

Only a pure Pashtun state could mean freedom to me.

trust me shadow... you don't need to justify your stand at all. what u believe in is what you believe in ... simple as that. i am not here to change your opinion but Afghans should know their enemy and thats all the matters to us.

I support Afghanistan. the land of my father and his father and his father!... and as far as you are concerned, the land of your father too, and a land that has always been diverse... good luck with your idealogy of pashtoon state only... the current pashtoonkhwa and afghanistan consist of more 20 ethnicities and it has always been like this. but the sad part is that you are brainwashed. a pashtoon ONLY state is not even possible.

again we have nothing to argue about... u are entitled to your opinion.

Shadow Caster, let's leave the argument of unification to the side for a second, and we will attempt to focus on the linguistic boundaries here.

                            You said,
"Tell me why would I like to fight for such a land where my kids have to learn Farsi?"

Who said they will be learning only Farsi? And even if they do learn Farsi, German, French and Chinese, Is that a problem? You have learned English haven't you? Are you aware that Pashto is taught in nearly all the provinces of Afghanistan? Are you aware that in the South, the Baluchis,Hazaras,Tajiks,Uzbeks and many other ethnic groups can properly write, read and speak in Pashto? With all due respect my dear brother, we should acknowledge our weakness and work on strengthening our shortfalls. Urdu will overtake Pashto if we don't quickly establish schools that teach Pashto in KPK. But that doesn't mean we should hate Urdu or Farsi. Its our fault for taking so long, we should have initially told our politicians that we want Pashto, It should have been the first thing instilled in their mindsets. But it's still not late, we are Pashtuns, we don't give up that easily.

In fact, you should not only learn Farsi, but you should learn German, French,Chinese and Spanish. We should only constructively and professionally criticize Persian-speakers when they attempt to belittle,under-estimate and insult our beautiful language[Pashto]. I personally admire bilingual speakers. I can speak 5 languages and I hope to learn more. I am presently trying to learn Bengali, and so far, I can understand most of it. Nonetheless, the ability to speak many languages benefits you in all sorts of way, employers love bilingual employees. Due to my lack of time, I will offer you a quick example. In my company, a person who can speak multiple languages is offered an interview much faster as opposed to someone who can only speak English. Why? Because when you reside in a multicultural society, we must learn more than 1 language if we expect to be successful and marketable. If you want to see the status of Pashto, visit the Afghan governmental websites, when they are usually hiring an employee, they specifically state, "Candidate must be fluent in Pashto and Dari". However, I think I am going off in a tangent again, my point dear brother is, If you and others truly care for Pashto, I would urge you to get your Ph.D in Pashto, that way you can serve as a Professor and teach more people this language of heaven.

People have sacrificed their lives for Farsi, they have written textbooks and flooded the world with them. To be honest with you, I find it intriguing that hardly any of us want to study Pashto but we all wish to see it equal to English or French. A language requires dedication brother, for Pashto to keep its prestige, we need a devoted set of people who study and research it and perhaps simplify the teaching process since many people complain 'its difficult'. I love Pashto and I am confident everyone who is posting on this site loves Pashto but we can't constantly attack other languages hoping by us bringing those language down, we can perhaps put Pashto on a higher level. In ground realities, that is not how it works. Pashtuns can never get rid of Urdu and Farsi. Similarly, Tajiks,Uzbeks,Hazaras,Punjabis and others cant get rid of Pashto. However, mark my words if we don't continue to study Pashto, and if we lack teachers, we will witness a significant decline in Pashto speakers. Put it this way, how can prospective students, who have a desire in learning Pashto ever learn Pashto if we lack textbooks and teachers?

I completely understand the emotional aspect of your post as I can see why and where most of your self-afflicted pain has came from. However, responding back with hate isn't the answer. We should never insult a foreign language. We should respect the speakers of other language, and trust me brothers, they will respect us back. Things are getting better Shadow Caster. On a more positive note, I experienced a sudden and profound burst of creative exuberance when I was told Pashto will soon be mandatory in all schools in KPK, I hope its well-implemented and properly embraced by the inhabitants of KPK.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Why is a Pashtun only state not possible? I find this statement to be very dogmatic. If twenty different ethnicities can live with each other by force, why can't a more or less doubly or triply-ethnic state with Pashtun majaority exist on its own.

But the real point is, the days when the unwilling inhabitants of "historical"countries had to live togethor through the sword of kings to provide for the life-style of kings are over and a new political contract is needed for people with different ethnic background to live in a multi-ethnic state.

It is not just a 17th Century logic i.e., our forefathers fought for it, that binds people togethor...People need pragmatic reasons and rewards of their loyalty to states, systems, etc.
