The two -stans are multi-ethnic countries, Pakistan present itself as a nation of muslims and discourage ethno-centric thinkings....Pakistan ka matlab kia la ilah ilalah waghera waghera.
Punjabis are dominant but they never say that it is punjabistan and dont depict themselves as magority and other as minorities.

Afghanistan on other hand present itself as pashtun dominated country therefore minorities there are feeling insecure from magority.

the only two who have voted no are the ones who probably have never seen either a hazara or tajik before in their lives. let alone lived with one. no one is forcing you to live with one. that is what afghanistan is about. if you want to live in afghanistan, you are welcome but if you are not happy then stay where you are. da zoor khabara kho na dey.

Admin Khan, yes, Pashtuns of Pakistan, especially those of Peshawar Valley have undergone a more rapid transformation compared to Pashtuns elsewhere socialogically speaking. This has occurred at a faster pace since 1990s. Today, they are more urbanized, more educated, and more skilled.

Last time when I visited Pukhtunkhwa, the strange thing I saw in the locality where I lived was that, there were Pashtuns there from every corner of Pukhtunkhwa mingling with each other and intermarrying freely without any regard to tribal affiliation. In fact, tribal divisions have disappeared or are fastly disappearing in Pukhtunkhwa and this trend is visible everywhere e.g., if you go to Swat, Dir, Malakand, etc. or even to southern districts, which are considered socially more tradional, you don't see people identifying themselves as Yousafzai, Tarklanri, Utman Khel, Khattaks, etc. I saw hordes and hordes of children and women dressed in all kinds of uniform going to schools and offices every morning. I found this to be extremly encouraging.

I think Pukhtunkhwa Pukhtuns have crossed the threshold in terms of economic mobility, social change, values-transformation, and literacy-skill levels required of a community to dissolve into a broader unity and work for higher national-goals (compared to petty tribal concerns). The Pashtuns of FATA have also been drawn into this dynamic and today there are more Pashtuns from FATA living in Peshawar and other places of Pukhtunkhwa than ever there were before. And, although, the displacement has been a painful process, it is making a large number of Mahsood and Wazir Pashtuns to settle permanently in urban centers like Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Peshawar, or even as far north as Charssada, Mardan, etc. So there is more integration occurying and tribal bonds are diluting with passage of time.

This also bodes well for Pashtun-centeric or pan-Pashtun politics. Some may argue, this change is not for good and there may be some truth in that as well but in sum-total, the impact/consequence of this is going to be good in the long run. I know there are some Pashtuns from Baluchistan and Afghanistan calling this (Peshawari Pashtun phenomenon) to be a kind of distortion of traditional Pashtun Culture but one point they don't realise is that, this is historical necessity bound to happen to them as well. No culture is a static, stagnant phenomenon...It is an organic process subject to change and reformation.

Madam poisonous, no one is desperate to come live in Afghanistan or join it. Far from it. People here were discussing the question of unification and considering various ways of achieving it for the good of all Pashtuns as a theoritical possibility.

Don't feel to be that privileged kindly.

my country, its stability, and its sovereignty is definitely personal to me. Those are my personal enemies who stand for its instability. I have nothing, absolutely nothing against anyone in this website, neither I am here to sugar coat this whole lar aw bar Pashtoon brotherhood. those are definitely my brothers and sisters who speak about Afghanistan's better and prosperous future (in ONE piece), regardless of their geographical location. But never will I, under any circumstance tolerate nonsense about my country's partition, regardless of their ethnic background.

any Pashtoon who has an ounce of ghairat left in him, an ounce of pashtoonwali or Afghaniat left in him will not speak ill of his country Afghanistan, those are the ones truely dear to my heart. and I am glad that such type of pashtoons are the majority in both side of the border... BUT i have absolutely nothing in common with those baigharat and be-pashto people who talk about breaking my country. Those are the ones that our country needs to be aware of ... those are the silent enemies we have... those are the ones we have to get rid of.

My country Afghanistan today stands in one piece due to countless sacrifice that Pashtoons from both side of the border have given. We have lost our loved ones to keep our pride and honor in one piece... to be able to keep our head high and call ourselves Afghans. Its a matter of great shame that some of pashtoons have forgotten what their forefathers have fought for... I have no intention to call those sold outs my own. If the current generation of pashtoons are not able to keep Afghanistan in one piece then i suggest every pashtoon should commit suicide out of embarrassment.

This is what our enemies want, this is what their agenda has been for centuries to break us... and if this happens now, then i say every Afghan/Pashtoon has to look at himself before talking of ghairat.
then why should our sacrifieces should go invane. i dont think the pashtun from occupied pashtunkhwah would want their rights and language ignored where theire rights are aleady denied by pakies. look at this simple discussion on the national tv of afghanistan how much pashto and pashtun anchored is ignored. you should have also put another options if one would wish to live with pakies. i dont think anything is wrong wishing a pure pashtun state. i dont see its possible the only option right now we can see is loy afghanistan.
yes i almost forgot its an example:

I am sorry brother but i didn't expect such a stupid post from you. I am very disappointed. The TV show is interviewing a pashtoon (farhad darya) who appearantly is not able to speak pashto himself, a pashtoon who is not able to speak pashto shows his own short coming. Even when the anchor is asking question in pashto he is responding in Farsi which shows how incompetent he is. It has nothing to do with other tajiks ignoring pashtoons or pashto.

Second: I am not sure how often you watch Afghan TV shows but if you were a frequent watcher you would be aware of the fact that MALE anchors do not even provide an opportunity to female anchors to even SPEAK. there has been many many debates and fights over this that male anchors are dominant. In this show, just like any other tv show in Afghanistan channels, the male anchor is the only one who speaks and shuts every female present. The tv shows are representative of gender issues that Afghanistan has, not the tajik pashtoon issue.

I am sure u are unaware that the pashtana anchor in this show IS THE MOST COMPETENT ANCHOR in Afghan TV. she is the most outspoken and brave woman i have ever seen on TV and if she ever notices that someone is trying to ignore her or not allow her to speak, she will be the first one to complain about it. and also i want to point out... she is host of couple of her OWN shows.

i don't see ANY tension between the tajik and pashtoon anchor but i do see tension between the women and the male anchor.

and i would like to point out that in Afghanistan majority of pashtoons are so uneducated that their language and the culture is bound to be ignored. if pashtoons themselves don't work for the development of their language, they shouldn't expect tajiks or hazaras to do so. Majority of pashtoons think that school is where "kaapirs" go and let me not start on what they think about their girls giong to school. if schools are place of "kapiraan" then they shouldn't complain if tajiks are the ones dominating the every department in Afghanistan.

non pashtoon afghans are very pro-education and modernization, they are extremely pro development, as opposed to pashtoons who believe getting educated means falling prey to agenda of Kapiraan... which is actually oposite. thanks to foreign interference in Afghanistan, schools are bombed in pashtoon areas, girls are thrown acid at if they go to get education. if we hate education then how can we expect our language to grow?

our great leader Gulbudeen was the first one who started the tradition of throwing acid at school girls (afsooooooos! a pastoon!)

please for God sake don't blame Tajiks now for this too.

I hate lie, and i will always speak the truth!... even if pashtoons dont like it!

feroza khore i hate to dissopoint you, it was just a simple discussion, darya saeb is an artist and singer i am sure he loves all afghans same. farhad speak very sweet pashto, i have heard it on BBC/pashto. in kunduz our uzbec brothers also speak pashto, at least most of them, where darya was born. we have to blame ourselves for all our miseries, our language has been limitted to madarasas in the last 30 years.

Once again a great response from you and I am glad we got such a wise and understanding Admin! But note that some people dislike Dari not for being alien to Pukhto, but because they can't stand the original speakers of the language. They just don't know how to, in a decent manner, reject the language. Thanks or helping 'them' out.
