There is some controversy about the authenticity of the narrations about black flags emerging from Khurasan coming to the support of the Mahdi. I tend to lean toward accepting them, but it is not something definite for me.

But the expected Fatimid Mahdi will himself emerge from Mecca not Khurasan according to the most sound traditions.

Furthermore, there is also a tradition that the Antichrist will emerge from Khurasan:

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq RA said: "The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) narrated to us, saying: 'The Dajjal shall emerge from a land in the east called Khurasan. He is followed by a people whom appear as if their faces are shields coated with leather.'" (Tirmidhi sharif)

In other words, the Dajjal shall be followed by people from the eastern lands of Khurasan that are Turkic or Mongolic, having round, fleshy faces like shields coated with leather.

I have written about this extensively on my blog:

    رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ: Followers of Dajjal: 7, Turkic "Jews"
Afghans follow that Sunnah so well it has become apart od the culture. NATO soldiers went to Afg, saw how cool it was applying the Sunnah And when they returned home they too grew their beards and hairs.

On the authority of Thawbaan (May Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah said:
"If you see the Black Banners coming from Khurasan go to them immediately, even if you must crawl over ice, because indeed amongst them is the Caliph, Al Mahdi."
[Narrated on authority of Ibn Majah, Al-Hakim, Ahmad]

The Mahdi can possibly be someone with Khorasani backgrounds. But is also. A Saiyyad thru Hasan, Ali and Fatima (may allah be pleased with them and increase their rankings)

Al-Masih ad Dajjal is not Khorasani based on the hadiths. His physical looks resembled a Roman (White person). Hes going to fool alot of you people. So yea Khorasani's aren't safe from his fitnas.

Dajjal himself is not a Khorasani (but what it is a "Khorasani"? Khorasan is simply a geographic location inhabited by various groups). But I don't know why you say Dajjal is a White person that resembles a Roman. Dajjal is a Jewish person with extremely curly hair with a ruddy complexion. He is described as resembling a particular Arab, Ibn Qatan, a man from Banu (The children) of al-Mustaliq from the tribe of Khuza'ah.

So where did you get the idea that he resembles a Roman or White European?

      • If i am not wrong black standards was associated with Abbasids and Abu Muslim of Khorasan used it in his uprising. It might be that the hadith of black flags of Khorasan lead by Imam Mehdi was forged by some pro-abbasid. And the hadith of Abu Bakar telling us about Dajjal being from Khorasan, might have been forged by some anti-Abbasid.

The first one is a possibility. The second statement regarding the Hadith of Abu Bakr (RA) is not because it states that Dajjal will be followed by people with faces like coated leather. If this Hadith was an anti-Abbasid fabrication meant to depict Abu Muslim al-Khurasani as the Dajjal, it would not have said anything about Dajjal being followed by people with faces like coated leather, a fact that is corroborated in other narrations with different asaneed.

You have to be careful before so casually stating that such and such Hadith is a forgery. The sanad is there, you have to examine it, and see if there were any narrators known for Umayyad or Abbasid sympathies at the time who would have a motive to fabricate words to the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

Perhaps the narrator Rawh bin Ubada al Qaysi should be examined more carefully to this end.

Use your brain Qadiani, these were prophesies, it could not be about Abu Muslim Khurasani if it were forged in contemporary or near contemporary period. A pro-Abbasid forger would flatter Khorasan and its people in blessed colours for their role in ascending Abbasids to the power , that in future they would again play a "noble" role near end times.

On the other hand an anti-Abbasid forger would hate Khorasan and Khorasanis for their role in ascending Abbasids to the power, and he would paint them in bad colours by attributing Dajjal (greatest villain of end times) and his followers to the region of Khorasan.
