Punjabi ? He can easily pass as a dalit in all over North India. Just Look at his facial features. If he's an eEast ironic than I am an pure Aryan.

Most I know are tall. All the adult males on my dad's side are over 6 ft (the tallest are like 6'5") other than me and one cousin. I'm around average in America (about 5'10" or 5'11") but I think I had some health issue since I stopped growing at like 14.

I know two families from Nangarhar that are short. One is Durrani, the other I'm not sure. Aside from those they're all tall.

I think the tallest Afghans tend to be from the mountain tribes, but most expats tend to be city folk. That could explain your observation.

Edit: Did you mean Pashtun Afghans or all? The ones with Turkic ancestry (like Hazaras and Uzbeks) tend to be shorter.

Looolll... funny thing is, I've heard one guy say the same thing before as well. I think that's BS. He's just got a ****ty nose. I'm sure he doesn't brag about his nose.

So many pashtuns have that beak-like nose. What of them? They have bird admixture? They're part of the bird race?

2 things. 1- you sound like an afghan version of me. I too stopped growing at 14, only got to 6' in height . Also have family where males are above 6 (tallest also 6'5'') or 6.. maybe 3 are under 6.

2 - these guys are not at all what I've met in person. Maybe I'm meeting the wrong people.

They say they're pashtun. If by Turkic you mean oriental features, i actually haven't met any of them yet. The only tajik i know is average height (5'10'' probably - which is actually above average. Average in us canada is 5'9''). Unfortunately I just haven't encountered many Tajiks.

Did it feel weird towering over everyone? I remember being way taller than all my friends, and then slowly seeing them catch up and eventually overtake me. I thought I'd get another growth spurt for years but it never came lol.

I don't know why all the Pashtuns you meet are short. If they came to the West as teens/adults, it's possible the lack of nutrition in Afghanistan stunted their growth. Getting enough food affects height a ton. So much so that Japan, a country that used to be known as full of particularly short people, has a higher average height than many Asian countries.

Pashtuns having beaked noses, is just a stereotype. Very few Pashtuns have noses like Bacha Khan. We make fun of ones with beaked noses, we call them "mashooka-war"........

About height, i have come across both tall and short Pashtuns from Afghanistan. I met few Niazis from Afghanistan and they were very tall. There must be some clans in Afghanistan who are taller than average and some must be shorter than average, just like in Pakistan.

Could you grow a beard at 14-15 I had a few freinds who were taller than me but I outgrew them eventually, they could all grow beards at 14-15, maybe early puberty has something to do with it.

                            Like this?

They are indeed tall. Which Pashtun tribes live in Kunar?

Mohmands are split between Mohmand Agency and Kunar so that's one tribe. I think Tarklanris must also have a presence there.

Nope. I had very little facial hair until I was nearly 20.
