Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Spoken, or rather typed like a true Desi. My Pakistani/Indian friend, currency has nothing to do with "ghairat". This is where your Pakistani/Indianness speaks volumes.

If someone has to explain it to you then you will never know.

Wow after all that passion and boasting I woulda thought Pakistani education would be good enough there for you lol. I've noticed that a lot.. In theory there's so much passion in neo nationalists but when reality hits and given half a chance they would run from pak as far as possible. It's an amusing circle.

Whats the harm in going abroad for a year or 2 for your postgraduate ? I mostly did it just for the experience not exclusively for education . I am a travel buff and like travelling around .

                • I don't think Manzareh is saying that anything is "wrong" with studying abroad. But he's right, after all the clout and hype you give to Pakistani institutions, the fact you decided to go to graduate study elsewhere suggests that you don't believe in the merit of Pakistan to provide what you claim it does.

                    1) Already graduated from a university in Pakistan
                    2) Postgraduate abroad is 1 year ( its 1.5 or 2 years in Pakistan)
                    3) Getting a GPA abroad is much easier
                    4) Study schedule is lighter abroad which will allow me to travel around as much as I can (I am a travel buff ) .

Plus a foreign degree carries much more weight than a Pakistani degree globally.
A lot of degrees from Pakistan, especially those related to a vocation are not recognized in the U.K. or the U.S. You have to supplement your Pakistani/Indian qualification with something else.

This isn't only confined to education. You'll find most politicians run to the U.K or U.S. when the milk turns out to be sour in their native homeland

Please do not make out that Pakistan is some kind of warrior nation who the world comes to for assistance. Outside of Pakistan you will see that Pakistan as a country is not respected at all. This is very unfortunate as Pakistan is the only Muslim country with nuclear weapons and should be immensely respected yet it isn't, on any level-by Muslim or non Muslims. I have never quite understood why this is-but it is a sad reality.

As for successfully wiping out an insurgency. Yes the Pakistan army may have achieved that, but it is one of the few nations that can claim the honour of killing hundreds if not thousands of its own civilians and displacing tens of thousands more. Go and ask the parent of a child who was maimed by Pak Army how they see things, or those people whose lives and livelihoods have been permanently ruined.

Let me very briefly explain some ground realities which you do not see while living in Pakistan, but will hit you in the face when you come out of the country.

Globally, Pakistan and India are seen as virtually the same people. When you tell someone you are Pakistani you will be lumped together with India. Same language, same clothes, same culture, same faces, same name for currency, same entertainment, same everything.

Pakistan itself isn't seen as a nation with its own separate identity.

Nothing out the ordinary for an average Pakistani citizen, but very weird for extreme nationalists like you that regard Pakistan as Jannat. You don't have to admit it but secretly and deep down you know you would rather be in 101 other countries. I bet as we speak you are looking for a passport and permanent stay via a marriage with a local female haha

So in other words it's better than Pakistan right?

So if this is true, then you went abroad to get what you're suggesting is a lower quality degree, to bring back thinking you'll benefit Pakistan with lower quality education from elsewhere

                              something seems off/like back peddling/making excuses/bull****

                              • Pakistani's say Allah (The most powerful, all hearer)

Afghans say Khuda. Which is shirk. When Afghans say Khuda they are invoking another deity that has nothing to do with All-mighty Allah, or his 99 names.

Astagfrullah. Their is no worse sin in Allah the exalted eyes than shirk.
