Burka is not originally Pashtun. It came from non Pashtuns.
Most Pashtuns live in rural areas and wear a loose scarf on their heads similar to what Kochi women still wear.
Burka, Chador, Jilbaba is all from the outside and have only recently become popular due to recent influence of foreigners after Soviet war and subsequent spread of radical Islam among Pashtuns.
Pashtuns and all Iranian tribes do have the concept of "Pardah" but it differs from region to region. The concept of Pardah is pre Islamic among Iranian tribes.

      Nincompoop,
Burqas are persian origin. Women in most Pashtun villages dont wear them.

Yes. That is the product of Firdousi's "superior persian" governance.

When you say that ," Most Pashtuns live in rural areas and wear a loose scarf on their heads similar to what Kochi women still wear." , which area are you referring to in today's context? This might have been the case several decades ago , but not today.
Here in Pakistan at least, most of the village women keep their entire body including face covered when outside their home, in other words they do use burka.

I ask you the same question that I asked Shahpur.
Which area are you talking about when you say that Pashtun women don't wear burka in ?
As far as I have seen, most do wear burka here in Pakistan.

Your talking about "parda" which all muslims practice or supposed to practice. We are talking about this:
                burqa afghanistan - Google Search

Most Pashtun village women dress in what Shapur described:

In villages, the 'afghan burka' that you have shown in the second link, is quite prevalent.
The school girls in the first picture are not wearing the 'afghan burka' , but it is likely that when travelling to and from school they do wear it.
                  I'll give you an example.
We had a woman who would come in everyday to do the cleaning , washing etc. While commuting to and from our house, she would wear the 'afghan burka'.
While in our house, she would remove the burka and just wear a chadar over her head, while her face would be uncovered.

No one is saying that Pashtun don't use them. We are talking about origin.
There are some Pashtuns that have adopted the burka but the vast majority of Pashtuns especially in the rural areas don't use them. This custom is of Persian origin.

O for ****'s sake; burqa is not a Dari or Pashto word, how can it belong to Tajiks or Pashtuns??
People of Herat and mazar e sharif are typically very conservative. The large black scarf that the women wear around them is something that Shias of Iran and Iraq wear and since we have lots of Shias in those parts of the country and those regions are close to Iran geographically, wearing that thing is the normal just as wearing the chadari/shuttlecock burqa is normal in places like jalalabad. Chadari or the shuttlecock burqa is something that came from Pakistan to Afghanistan. Our women in rural areas of Afghanistan do not wear stuff like that. They just wear long scarves.

Yeah this is why many CEO's of major companies are Indians. What would a Talib Caveman like you know

No offense but they are just stereotypes. In Afghanistan, we have a saying about Indian people. It is said that a mouse will pass an Indian house because the mouse would not be able to find any food there.

Unlike Indic people who are an obedient tyoe that are brainwashed to worship anything white including White central Asians which is why 90% of Indians claim Afghan/Arab/Persian ancestry will easily conform to what ever they are told to conform to. Central Asians on the other hand are a rebellious type who would rather lead than be led which is why history tells us of central Asian dynasties ruling India rather than the other way around.

Most Afghans call it Chadari which is a farsi word. Burka is Arabic.
                            FYI: The Burka predates Pakistan.

Funny how the thread started as a discussion about what Pashtuns do/don't do in their free time , to debating over the origins of the burka.Still, normal conversations do turn out like this and it is part of social interaction.
I think we've all come to agree that regardless of where each item of clothing originated from , the burka , scarf, chadar etc are all used by Pashtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

idiot, since when is hardwork and education obedience to whites? Indians are the richest group in USA, just look at the stats

If you consider hardwork and education as obedience to whites, this is your problem, no wonder your people are still living in caves
