I have noticed that Pashtuns/Pathans are extreme hard workers (generally) this is one good quality about them, however it seems there is very little fun in your lives, we desi/Indians also work hard but at the same time we enjoy our lives a lot by traveling, going to restaurants, movies, bars etc... I know several Pathan/Pashtun families here in Canada and I am saying this by looking at them

same thing said about Germans and French people
Germans work more
the french play more.
it mostly has to do with climate. Pakistanis/Indians live in a warm climate so they dont have to work too hard, unlike Pashtoons.
maybe this is why Pakistan is a corrupt country.... because most of the Punjabis are always laidback. What about Mohajirs ? Do they work hard....
-
because Pashtuns come from a cold climate.
For them, work is very important.
it's common sense. If you are working, you get income.
If you don't work, then you lose money and when you lose money, you can't pay your expenses.
like i said, for some reason, you are saying Punjabis are more laidback? Lazy?
Pakistan is still a poor country. Several number of Punjabis and Sindhis who are stuck in rural areas, are still living under feudalism, cultivating the land for their landlords and you say they're less hard working and more laidback than Pashtuns?
Maybe... just maybe.....

with all these Pashtuns moving into Punjab and Sindh, us Mohajirs, Sindhis and Punjabis are outsourcing our menial jobs to these Pashtun new comers?
it's just like the deal with Mexicans coming to USA. Takiing the jobs that americans don't want to do.

and what about these "hardworking" pashtuns getting education?
we had sent a Pashtun man into space!
We were the greatest nation in central asia.
Afghanistna was glorious
We were about to annex FATA and KPK into AFG!
lol! That was a reality until ISI, Dubious Tajiks and Arabized Pashtun sellouts, and Taliban and Jihadists destroyed all of that ! 30 years of the AFghan war and 2 million Pashtuns and other afghans/pakistanis dead... who knows what those 2 million civilians could have achieved...

I understand that you're getting aggravated by the Afghans that are constantly hostile to Pakistan. But you should realize that many a times it's indiots who pretend to be Afghan. In this case, neither of the 2 people are Pashtun, or Afghan. Your insults were misdirected.Originally posted by Peacelove View PostHe is Indian and talking about India ..Why you are bringing paksitan in it..Your obsession :

You go to the bar because you want to meet other people in the bar or you want to drink. When Pashtuns want to have a drink, it's in secret guest rooms with their best buddies, not out in public. And they are not openly dating so there is no point of going to pubs either.
My fondest memories have been of sitting in a room full of cousins and siblings, watching a movie or just chit chatting over endless cups of tea with dry fruits.
Pashtuns are family orientated people and their idea of "fun" is being amongst their loved ones. Any travelling that happens is to and from a family member's house from one country to other.
The very few times I have travelled without my family in hopes of having an adventure, I have been depressed as hell the moment I have reached my destination. I enjoy travelling, I don't enjoy actually getting to a particular destination, unless it's home.

Astounding. Quiet astounding. No, you need to believe me... it really is quite astounding. Bewildering. I am filled with disbelief.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View Post

This thing actually sounded like a normal person there. Must be a glitch in the programming.

This is true for a large majority of Pashtuns.I think that because we are exposed to this particular style of life from an early age, so we develop likes and dislikes accordingly. And we tend to have our own unique ways of enjoyment which might look boring to someone accustomed to European/American way of life.Having said that, you will find Pashtuns , particularly in the West , who actually 'enjoy' life as described by Karachi.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. Actually northern europeans are pretty similar to Pashtuns, for example they also sleep very early, while desis, arabs, africans etc... sleep very late, I remember in Karachi, even if you go out at 4 am, the streets are buzzing, the shops/restaurants are open, it's the same in Dubai or Riyadh. Kansika is right perhaps, it may have to do with Warm or Cold climates, it changes cultures I guess

Karachi is a huge city like New York. But all of America is not like New York. Dubai and Riyadh have hot climates during the day so people sleep during that time and come out when its cooler during evening and night time.Originally posted by Karachi View PostActually northern europeans are pretty similar to Pashtuns, for example they also sleep very early, while desis, arabs, africans etc... sleep very late, I remember in Karachi, even if you go out at 4 am, the streets are buzzing, the shops/restaurants are open, it's the same in Dubai or Riyadh. Enjoyment is relative. Everyone's idea of enjoyment is different.Last edited by Shapur; 02-03-2017, 08:35 AM. Reason: insulting member, please make your point without resorting to insults

I would say it is the opposite. Pashtuns have far too much time on their hands, drinking tea, having gapshap and lounging around listening to Rubab/Mangai in Hujras and not working enough. The reason pashtuns in rural areas go to sleep early is because there is no electricity and everything is closed. Most rural people all around the world live like this. 24/7 cities like New York are a recent phenomenon.
