    Kandaharies

Especially if you consider the fact that they live right next to each other and genetically cluster with each other too

Kandahari people are dark skinned in general and look different then so called ideal pathan look one see being posted here. The ideal pathans are mostly found in northen regions of KP/FATA where they are influenced by dard/kashmiri like looks. I'm janjua rajput like Raheel and did genetic test, I'm not that different genetically to some of these dard/kashmiri people apart from being somewhat more indian like genes. But in my village there are people who are very dark skinned like dravidians, we call them massalis, I bet they cluster with central indians.

In Pakistan everyone knows northen Pak kashmiris are lightest after that pathans and then other ethnic groups. As a whole punjabis are lighter then sindhis. North punjabis are lighter then south punjabis. Christians are like indian muhajirs and so on etc

It depends to what degree you ethnicity reflects your culture at home. For example, my mother's side are all Kashmiri Punjabis, never married Punjabis, just settled there and married within their ethnic group. But they know nothing about Kashmir, they can't speak a word of Koshur, they prefer phulka roti and daal over lamb rice/pulao, they don't even care about Kashmir. They never talk about being Kashmiri. So if your ethnicity is irrelevant to the degree that you've completely lost touch, like my mother's side, then it's pointless to even identify as that ethnicity.

I'm not sure how much Imran is in touch with his Pashtun roots, he seems to speak good Punjabi and good Urdu, never heard him speak Pashto. He does seem to go on about how he's Pathan and he's crazy etc. He's even written a book about it, "Warrior Race" and all that stuff.

I feel like he's got some identity issues, he's a confused kind of person, not just about his ethnicity, his religion too.
Butts are integrated in rural gt road belt, this is why now butts rule Pakistan. Maybe this is why pathan like Imran Khan couldn't get much support in gt road belt because he is originally seraiki pathan. I don't know any punjabi pathan but Butts are found everywhere in gt road belt and people know them and think of them as any other punjabi. I think so called punjabi pathans are mostly found in cities like Lahore and hence have no connection to actual punjab like butts. Imran Khan is popular in Lahore but not in rural areas where he never goes.

Also beauty is subjective, Indians find Indians attractive, Africans find Africans etc... You as a white pashtun person has no say who finds who attrative
Why you keep Losting pictures of old Pashtun men?

Do we base Pashtun looks on how old the men look like? Lol

Beside they are all malnourished people, have beards, etc....clean shaven these guys will look like completely different people, example:

This guy went from terrorist looking guy no women would find attractive to a very good looking gentleman.
Some guys look better with beards, others look better without beard.

I think Afghans would look a lot better, if they dressed better, shaved, and were well nourished.

You obviously selected those two pics on purpose, the world knows how different a average punjabi looks from pathan, dont act stupid.

You could have at least selected some hindkowan person to compare to pathans, Lahories exactly look similar to Indians

Also clustering of few samples doesn't mean _hit

Pashtuns cluster much more nearer to their neigbours like Tajiks, Pamireis, Kalash, Baloch. while Punjabis cluster much closer to their indic neigbours like Sindhis, Rajahistanis, etc..

Punjabis and Pathans are actually not neighbors as you point out, by which I mean, there are mountains separating them. Mountains have always made a division between people, look China and India for example, they are so close yet so different because of mountains

My pic didn't have only old people, it had every age group

and so would Indians and everyone else

Average Pashtun does indeed look different than average Punjabi and those pictures go on to depict that, unless you are blind. Neither have I claimed that they looked the same either, read carefully. I said that the difference isnt as stark as shown here (European and African different).

Indians arent a homogenous people and different Indians from different states look different.

Those arent a 'few samples', if you look at any genetic calculator, PCA cluster plot etc. you will get the same. North-Western South Asians and South-Central Asians cluster closely with each other.

Which mountains are seperating them? It is mainly the Indus River, as Hindkowans (who are Punjabis as well) live in mountains as well and by neighbours, it means the populations live next to each other.

Most Indians and Chinese arent neighbours as Han Chinese are concentrated in Eastern China. The Indian groups living next to China (Tibet) resemble them, like Ladakhis, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gurkhas and also Nepalis.

                These mountains:

look at the elevation, no mountains separate India/Pakistan, this is why they are so similar, yet huge mountains separate, Punjab and pashtun areas, this is the main reason for such huge cultural and looks between pashtuns and punjabis, and again, samples of few people doesn't mean **** and no, central asians are not the same as north west south asians, their Automosal DNA is very different

You do realize that those mountains were historically inhabited by Hindkowans and many still live in them. Does the Salt Range make a 'huge barrier' between Potoharis and Punjabis or is there a similar one of Himalayan Mountains between Indian Punjabis and Himachalis?

You can go to any genetics/anthrofora and check oracles, PCA plots etc.
South-Central Asian and North-Western South Asians are close, genetically. These are based on autosomal admixture, if you didn't know.

Could be true, the Kashmiris have been integrated in Punjab for many generations. My mother's half Bhatt/Butt and half Zaman. My father's a Jatt Punjabi (Sipra).

                    • Hindko language sounds like punjabi, but the hindkowan are not punjabi. They are their own ethnicity.

Hindko is like punjabi who were started to be known as hindko. Hindko isn't real ethnicity. Main difference I've noticed is hindko people are meek seeda sada saeeyin logh like sindhis/seraikis while punjabis are harami types.

It's not different but very similar in fact. Pashto have dravidian retroflex, not surprising looking at where they cluster genetically.

They can be called highlander Punjabis. I don't see how they form their own ethnicity. It's like Lar and Bar Pashtuns, a bit.

Pashtuns have genetic affinity with Punjabi Jatts. Here's the results for 3/4 Afghan Pashtun 1/4 Tajik

Hindkowaan just means 'of the the Indian mountains'. It's not an ethnicity. They're just northern Punjabis. Paharis/Mirpuris and people from Himachal who speak Pahari are also Punjabis. No difference, just the dialect.
