This is completely untrue. It may depend on which society you live in (I doubt even that, though), but it is completely untrue for at least most females. And as some females here have said, nothing helps them in keeping men away, even dressing what you'd consider decently or modestly or Islamically.

However, would it be safe for me to assume that you're saying that the only reason a female would get teased by the same man more than once is if she's not carrying herself in a "dignified" manner? In which case, it's the woman's fault for getting harassed?

As I always say, let the women talk when they're the ones who know better about a certain topic or situation -- like this one.

      You see dearest sister,

one has to adjust to one's environment. That is why in certain environment to be in the presence of a mahram is so important. and in certain cases to go fully veiled

Another note, sister, sometimes when Allah's wrath hits a people, He makes them lose all sense of dignity. Muslim countries are especially a good example of this today. Not even a full veil can help a woman in Muslim countries.

These are signs to look for when judging if Allah is angry with a particular country or not.

I am not saying that Western countries are safe, but here a woman can wear simple clothes without even going veiled in some cases and she won't be harassed.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

Women are dignified. They have been created as such. Don't let a loser take that away from you by responding to him.
Oh, so you mean to say that the next time a guy attacks a girl to rape her, she should not respond???What the hell!!!
If a woman responds to protect herself against the beast, she is is degrading herself? What the hell!
A woman allowing a man degrading her, should remain dignified by not responding to him in order to avoid degrading herself. What the hell!!

Shlombay, if not 100%, majority of the Pashtanee here do dress modestly (I assume here).Yet they do not consider safe. Why is itso hard to accept the reality that women do get harassed all across the globe, whether covered or uncovered, verbal or physical, or at home or outside on streets. What kind of a lame logic is this? Being Muslim or Christian does not help you in not getting harassed my males.I am talking about this--the REAL/IMPERFECT--world, I don't know if you live in some PERFECT world of yours.

My observations and experiences (real!!) are different than the propositions that you are presenting here. Bad men harass women whether they are wearing Hijab or wearing the minimum-essential. Good men do not harass women--covered or uncovered. Good women like good men.Bad women like bad men. That is my conclusion.

lolz nowadays hijabis wear skin tight chest hugging clothes..many hijabis are the biggest hypocrites.

As for hijab protecting woman or hijabis being stared at...it's the men who have the issues not the women. Women shouldn't really need to cover up especially in a 'muslim' country because all the men their would of course be 'good' Muslims who wouldn't dare look at a woman.

Men are the problem. Men should put on blindfolds that way they won't see women and lust after them.

Okay, imma go e-flirt on a different thread now. Lolz.

Why should men not do their part? I do my part, I know countless women who do - yet that doesn't keep men from harassing women - be she naked, be she covered.

If a man has bad intentions and no Haya, he will disrespect a woman, no matter if she wears Hijab or not. Because if he HAD Haya he wouldn't look at women with such an eye in the first place and lower his gaze. Waqt'e ke Adam behaya baasha, na Hijab faida mekona na Qaid o Bas. Hijabis do not face as many insults as non-Hijabis do. I am born in New York, I have friends that teased women with skin tight clothes. The minute a Hijabi passed "Na, she religious don't mess with her". So my observations(real) tell me that Hijab helps out a woman.
Your (real) experiences are limited to New York and your friends. My experiences are concerned with the harassment of women folk in general, wherever they live or whatever dress they wear. While they cover their heads, they do wear Jeans. So what would you say then?If covering the body would save one from men, why are the Hijab-wearing women on this thread complaining? More importantly, why women get sexually assaulted in Muslim countries?
