There is no such a thing as Pakistani Pashtun or Afghani Pashton, these division are foreign imposed and artificial. Two nation theories was based on religion-as Jenah try to explain it…thus reason for separation of Punjab, Bangal and Sind was religion what was the reason for separation of Pashtuns from Afghanistan? We in Afghanistan are not greedy we simply want what is rightfully ours.

You should be happy for Pakistani pathans for not being in mess that you guys are in. I mean afghani pathans end up all over Pakistan anyway so what is the point of loy afghanistan

First off, it's Pashtun not "Pathan". What's the point of loy Afghanistan? The better question is what is Porkistan doing in a region that has no historical relation to Poonjabis. Except for the very few Pashtuns who have been mixed with Poonjabis, all Pashtuns want to unite under one flag.

Making you their hamsayas for the last 700-800 years? No I don't rejoice over tyranny. I'm sorry you were subjected to such Pashtun brutality.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

History of Pashtuns isn't from Afghanistan, ask him more details about it.

I apologize they made you hamsaya.

I clearly said that I'm not bragging, but you keep suggesting that I am trying to be "a king"; it suggests that you view the mention of historical facts as a reminder of domination.

Another is your attempt to divorce Afghan Pashtuns from Pakistani Pashtuns; It was the people who are CURRENTLY Pakistani Pashtuns that were the ones who took Punjabis as their indentured servants (hamsaya). Afghans only did it with Tajiks and Hazaras. Your resentment should be with Pakistani Pashtuns (which I suspect it really is, but you're trying to be politically correct out of fear), but you seem to refer back to Afghan Pashtuns, because you have spite for Pashtuns in general.

Finally; you lack basic knowledge of how Pashtun hamsaya system worked. It's not the same as simply having a manual labor job which is what you believe it means. Being an indentured servant means you had NO other choice but to serve, you were not allowed to have property, all your earnings were for the people whose land you lived on. Furthermore you were a servant in your own land, since it was conquered by the Pashtun tribes. You also didn't have basic rights, which means you had no one to turn to for any grievances. you were completely at a Pashtun's mercy

The Manual Labor jobs in Pakistan may not have high repute, but that's not the same as being indentured. A person can always quit and get a different job or if there's problems, they can sue or litigate their employer. They have rights that a hamsaya doesn't. They can have their own land if they can afford it, make their own income. Also they are in someone else's land. A Pashtun even in manual labor is free to leave and be independent, a hamsaya is not, in fact many Punjabis died at the cruel hands of Pashtuns for trying to escape. Similar to how black slaves were treated in America. It's essentially the difference between slavery and being an employee.

So these details make a profound distinction ....and this is why your responses just tell us you have an inferiority complex; You can't cope with historical realities and lashing out blindly.
Believe me he knows the difference.

The "hamsaya" concept of Pashtuns is quite broad actually. It also includes asylum seekers from other Pashtun tribes, or just settlers and wide range of dependents who sought protection. Basically any landless person living on the lands of the conquerors. For example "Gadoons" , a Ghurghashti tribe , were hamsaya of Yousafzais. Yousafzais kept them as subordinates and used their military services. "Gadoons" accepted this inferior position to benefit from the protection they were getting from a powerful tribe like Yousafzais. Shaikh Mali Yousafzai finally allotted some lands to Gadoons and the latter's hamsaya status ended. All the Syeds were also taken as 'hamsaya' but within short period Pashtuns gave them lands out of religious sentiments. Hajam/nai, iron-smith, chamar etc are at the bottom in hamsaya, daman being at lowest. You are right, these are castes from old medieval times, and even today a Pashtun will work as a laborer but would strongly refuse to adopt profession of hajam etc.

Morons. Being hamsaya means having some skill and creative ability, which is a sign of civilization and settled/sedentary life unlike the primitive tribals who only know cattle-herding, nomad-ism, sometimes rudimentary agriculture and, but mostly live on loot and plunder---For every thing they depend on people who have advanced skills, who are sedentary people living in urban centers.

Being a kasabgar or artisan means being at an advanced stage of social evolution.

Tribalism means not having the capacity and the skill to live in a state and being dependent on the tribal link for security.
