Why does so many Afghans want modernity and education for their children but refuse modern laws and education when it is offered to them.

Like from my last visit to Afghanistan I heared so many people discuss how backward Afghan culture is and how it needs to change, but non of them would even do a thing about it, even in their own home.
What do they even expect that everything will change magicaly?

modernity without a modern economy and government is impossible.

afghanistan because of its socio economic situation simply cannot be modern in western sense of the word.

look at a country like india where despite modernity in the cities, it still remains a very backward country.

I think countries like India still has some people in it who preach modernity also follow it and allow it for their children. In Afghanistan be it in big cities like Kabul or a village, the mindsite is almost the same....especialy if it is about women rights and freedom of relligion.

the point of discussing such issues is not to keep score but to acknowledge faults stemming from our culture so we can raise a better one. we are not here to compare eastern women with western ones.

western women may come across as shameless by your standards but take those very eastern women raised in villages and bring them abroad. you will be shocked at how much freedom they allow themselves when given the opportunity.

eastern women may have shame but the majority of them have no confidence, are not independent or educated and would/could not defend their own rights or that of a rat if their lives depended on it.

just a couple of months ago, an afghan girl killed herself because her family didn't buy her a new wedding dress. what the **** do you do with shame when your self worth becomes so low that your life ends valuing less to yourself than a damn dress...

Enough the whole world is talking about what you have talked above. thousands of NGOs working on those issues you have talked above. We have been listening this for decades.
how many Ngos or tv talks on the western degradation and humiliation of women, selling woman soul and body for men's pleasure and corporate world's monetary interests.
women think they are free but actually they are not, they are being use by men. believe me the day the women stopped becoming a source of making money and pleasure for men, men would behave with worse than what you see in Afghanistan.
This is all money and pleasure game. sorry but this is reality.

i am not tired of it because whenever i hear people talking about it, i am not clueless as to what they are talking about. you are tired of hearing it because you are JAHIL, small minded and clueless of the faults of your own culture. instead of trying to fix a problem, your type likes to waste type and effort by diverting the nations attention to stupid, pointless and small matter.

Once believe in person and not gender,things will start improving. For modernity we need modernism. Modern education and democracy as well as development with science are needed.

This discussion is not about the west but about Afghanistan. And western women are far more free than any women on this planet. I live in west and see it with my own eyes, you can fool with your propagande some besewaad villager but not us.

So stop acting like typical jahil paki and act as human being once in a while.
