It takes time to adjust and build trust in any city you live in. Sometimes events have a life of their own, and what we can do is to simply act correctly, the rest is not in our control.

New York is probably the greatest city on earth if you think about it

having said that, Toronto is a much better place to live in my opinion, simply based of safety, cost of living etc
safety I agree with, though cost of living is actually cheaper in a lot of places in America and they have less taxes

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

At least you got universal healthcare, and all other kinds of state benefits living in Canada. In America everything is great, as long as you have a white collar job although it's easier to find work in America than in Canada.

The health care is free, but the disadvantage is, there is such a huge line up for everything. It takes months to see specialists here. If you have a serious illness, then you are screwed. I would rather pay money and get my health checked quickly, if it is a serious condition.

                Also benefits, which ones?

the only good benefit I know is the EI job insurance one, which covers you for 9 months if you loose your job

Texas is nice. If you have nice paying job no income tax baby.

I love the warm weather. I can play cricket, basketball, and soccer all year round. And for a red state, Texans aren't as racist or bigoted as one would think.

Plus there is a pretty big Muslim community here.

I think all you Toronto Afghans should move down to Texas.

Texans love their guns and red meat, so you Afghans will feel at home. :P

                        How about seattle? Nice place.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Depends on the kind of weather you like. Relatively cold winters and warm summers, nothing crazy.

Seattle is known for rain. I have a friend from US navy who is a Seattle native. He told me thank god I am out of that place. So I guess yeah, to each his own. Seattle is not known for cold, but for rain 24/7.

It rains but its kind of overrated, kind of when people talk about earthquakes and California. Weather aside, it is safe and a mid sized city with a smaller city feeling. I have family up there that I used to visit often, I always liked it up there. If I had the freedom of up and leaving I would leave California and move up there.
