Well, the Soviet Union gave it all it had to secularize Afghanistan and ironically, the exact opposite happened. There really are no out of the closet seculars inside Afghanistan, and if there are, they are surrounded by well armed body guards.

Secularism is not a day dream. Now it is a reality. It is taking place. Taliban are out of power for the last many years. Their come back is impossible or with a lot of bloodshed. The opposite of Taliban is secularism which is the rule of Karzai and Afghan parliament with the help of executive , judiciary, police and army. Two times elections took place and the third time is forthcoming.

What we need is more secularism , more development and more democracy. We have to secularize Afghanistan and the whole Muslim world more and more. We have to wipe out the pockets where Taliban and Islamists have some illegitimate influence.

Ghairat is what USA has to be the world super power. Ghairat is deterrence, defense, education, knowledge, economy, democracy, freedoms and human rights not the life under the duress of Taliban.

Sorry to say Badlun wror but you are extra influenced by the western so called development based on atrocities, exploitation and extra influenced by their culture and everything. Keep islam at a side, where your pakhtunwali has gone ? Dont look pashtuns and muslims with the eyes of the west. We have our own identity, culture, civilization, education and way of life.

As long as Islam has to be referred and defined the social policies of Afghanistan by ANYONE; then you won't have secularism.

Secuylarism is only alive in the West; where it is its origin; keep it there.

                My dear Friend
I believe in specialization not generalization. Every thing has its own place. Pashtunwali cannot become a religion and Islam cannot become Pashtunwali. Democracy is not religion and religion is not democracy.

I need religion for one thing , Pashtunwali for another thing and democracy for some thing else. I need Islam for my beliefs(faith), worship and morality. I need Pashtunwali for my culture and society. I need democarcy for my polity/state/politics. I need capitalism or socialism for my economy.

This is simple departamentaization. Please do not misunderstand me . I love Islam, Pashtunwali and democracy at the same time. This is secualrism to separate all these three. Seculairsm is not an anathema. try to understand secualrism. It is not atheism. At the same time it is not Islmaism. It is a middle path. Mullah for religion and politician for politics. Culture and society as per the country, language and community.

The only interest the religious people have in secularism is to bring their teaching to Australia, once there, its goodbye.

I feel responsibility for my secularist so I thought I offer this useful advice.
