    They didn't even have international accreditation; a Doctor or Engineer from Kabul University could not get jobs in their field abroad unless they take special exams or go through schooling in their host countries.looked good cosmetically but lacked content.The Modern facilities of Pre-War Afghanistan was basically Tapioca Pudding;

However Iran had much better schools due to their oil money; Sharif University in Iran was an INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED Engineering School. This claim you're making is just typical Afghan exaggeration.

The Taliban are afraid of everything non-Islam, thus burn books; and forbade girls to go to school, that - 'cause and effect' - caused "ignorance".
Partly true; Taliban were part Deobandi influenced so they internalized the traditional Deobandi suspicion of Modernity trying to undermine Islam.....this made them different than Ikhwans who viewed Modernity as a New Platform for Islam to rise again. But what made Taliban really awful is that they looked at Islam from the cultural Lense of Pashtuns. That's what made them the Woman hating, extremists they were.

If you take away Islam; the problems of Pashtun culture with it's Walwar, Blood Feuds and Woman trading to settle disputes will be there.

"When they see rich non Muslims ...

Not only Muslim oil-Arabs swim in "richness".

and they love promisquity, immorality and hedonism. Thus they become apostates.

Many become christians - thus have read the New Testament and Bible - a lot of study, others become atheist - one you may know is Ayaan Hirsi Ali; and in respect to her:
What's your point" Anyone who has read the Bible knows how inconsistent it is; most Christians themselves do not read the Bible. Most people convert for acceptance and inferiority complex.

As for Ayaan Hirsi Ali; if you ever read her book INFIDEL; it's basically her autobiography; she describes situations her envy of Westerners and their model of life; not on account of Scientific or Technological advances but because she felt inferior to them. It's a Psychological feeling of inadequacy more than anything. This was what happened in Afghanistan because these Russian instructors were coming to Afghanistan with a directive telling Afghans "You're weak, backwards and poor because you're Muslims".

This country is not like Afghanistan. So there is absolutely no reason for one to fear persecution because of apostasy.

You threathen 'Hairan" with death - as was Ayaan in Holland.

Well I don't want to speak on Shamlawar's behalf but if you study his history you can see his life story models ANOTHER type of Inferiority Complex.

Did you know in the past he used to be an Afghan Millat supporter and completely secular; he even debated against Islamists in the the past and their claims that the communists taught a curriculum of Godless Atheism, by telling them they had classes on Deen.

My point here is not to make a backhanded atttack on Shamlawar but to demonstrate that Shamlawar is an example of ANOTHER type of inferiority complex that exists in Afghanistan or amongst Ex-pat Afghan communities. People run to extremism because they feel our recently past generations and themselves they lost sight and "sold out" their identity. So in this anxiety of cultural confusion they panic and run to it. Him threatening Hairan may in fact be a more an act of inner guillt because he sees/saw a reflection of his past self in Hairan and believe me Shamlawar in his former internet IDs has said somethings far worse than Hairan about Islam and Deen.

But the problem is from both spectrums; the Secularist/Communist inferiority complex and this new wave of Western raised Raidicals.

The problem we have is we never learned to be balanced people. We're a society of extremes.

I am a little interested in the update about Hairan's activities.
Why ? Because my first post here was on a thread concerning Jelaluddin
where Hairan was making ridiculous comments. So I registered to defend
the comments that S.K. was making, which made sense based on
my direct experience on the battlefield.

Then, S.K. had a different name before
he changed to this more dignified username. It reminds everyone about
Khorasan and the Black Flags, so I like the sound of the word which suggests
      a great victory over evil.
      And gives hope !

So - is there a pic of Hairan which is transportable to this thread ?
I am curious to see what this person looks like after all the discussion now,
and also back to my first arrival at PF.

I see it as awful that he apostasized.

Is "In Flight" an Afghan who has asylum in Holland, too ?
I have never seen his posts. Are you secular, too, obviously ? Where do you stand, then ?

Impressive that Hairan learned a difficult language, Dutch, so easily.
But to lose his faith and become nearly soulless is a great tragedy.

I hope this is just "a phase" and he will find his way back .

So, is Hairan a student in Amsterdam ? What are his goals besides getting 'in with the
      Islam-hating crowd of super-cool and super-evil Westerner?

Then: what benefits does THAT yield him once safely ensconced in their numbers ?

It IS a case in point to study. I think it's important to dissect in order to grasp the psychology of this
type of "defector" from one's religion.

P.S. I had not heard of this woman's book. Is it any good at all for understanding the dynamics of
      her transformation ?
So many of those "memoirs" of ANTI-Islamic Afghans/Iranians which get published enthusiastically

by Western publishing houses, and hence promoted all over are sheer trash !
      Boring, dumb, full of lies.

They all sound carved from the same theme : "How I escaped my burkha".

One would think that Western European and even American readers might be tired of that
      sensationalist approach and superficiality !

        Nice to meet you!

        I'm not "Afghan" but Dutch.

"ANOTHER type of Inferiority Complex." .

True, but no excuse for threats to murder someone; and punishable by law in Holland.

We're a society of extremes isnot a problem - go for education, education, education - then things will change. Internet is a gigantic teaching tool and relatively inexpensive.
I know of one Persian professor who studied medicine in Kabul and Law in Holland; and told 'best university'. So you see how hearsay goes astray on truth.

"Deobandi" and 'Ikwans' I don't know, but interestingly is 'Deo' - 'God' in Latin.

"what made Taliban really awful is that they looked at Islam from the cultural Lense of Pashtuns. That's what made them the Woman hating, extremists they were.

Without any offence ever intended, I think that Pashtun feudal culture with warlords etc., is the same as feudal Arabia at the time of the prophet Mohammed - a very dangerous time for women; and women kidnapped by enemies, or for ransom - big shame on those tribes. Thus the Arab purda before islam and purda of important/rich christian women at that time in Persia, thus the purda burka in Afghanistan.

        "What's your point"

That "riches" as such doesn't lead to promiscuity, etc. , nor to apostacy.

Anyone who has read the Bible knows how inconsistent it is; most Christians themselves do not read the Bible.

The Old Testament Bible is Thora/Judaïsme. Christianreligion is the New Testament and a much thinner book than O.T., and not difficult to read or understand. The O.T. is used because it has the prediction of Jesus Christ -God of Christians on the Cross, the Ten Commendments accepted, Moses and Abraham, are read in churches - but N.T. is the essence.

Most people convert for acceptance and inferiority complex.

Iffor acceptance - they are lying to themselves, far worse to Allah.
'inferiority complex' cannot change someon's religious convictions.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali INFIDEL is her autobiography. - Yes

she describes her envy of Westerners and their model of life; not on account of Scientific or Technological advances but because she felt inferior to them."

Somalia is thoroughly backward in all ways compared to Europe.

It's a feeling of inadequacy more than anything.

Not so, Ayaan saw/experienced the difference, thus 'My Freedom' book -as other apostates say 'Freedom' is most important.

          Aren't you ashamed of yourself?
Nice try, but your ignorance is blaring and only shame is the one you ought to have for trying to vouch for the council of Nicea approved New Testament.

You are going to raise up Ayaan Hirsi Ali?
A known fraud and huckster that was exposed openly on the investigative reporting of Zembla?

"Her real name is Ayan Hirsi Magan. She lied about her date of birth, her story as a war refugee, her family, the 'threats' from her family, the 'persecution', her personal history. In short, she is indeed the calculated and manipulative woman with a personal agenda many have accused her of. As a right-wing neocon she relies on lies, wealth and power. She is a completely unreliable person. "

"She was not forced to marry. She even left her husband without any consequences at all. There were no threats from her family, no revenge.
From the age of 7 she lived in Kenya (the family left Somalia before the civil war) and received a free education from the UNHCR. The Islamic school she attended was the best in the country. She lived in a relatively prosperous part of Nairobi and had a room to herself.
To secure for herself a promising career she besmirched her family and the Islamic background that gave her a good education. She deliberately painted a black picture of Islam that she never experienced as such, only to profit from it. The Dutch party she is an mp for, the VVD, knew she had lied. They used her in their anti-Islamist and anti-left campaign. And Ayan Hirsi 'Ali' presented the world with a fancy story it very much liked to hear."

"ANOTHER type of Inferiority Complex." .

True, but no excuse for threats to murder someone; and punishable by law in Holland.
I never excused his actions; in fact I oppose his extremist attitudes, but unless you seek to understand the mechanism that motivates people then you're not actually helping the situation.

We're a society of extremes isnot a problem - go for education, education, education - then things will change. Internet is a gigantic teaching tool and relatively inexpensive.

Society will not just be moderated by SIMPLY education; because one of the extremes I discussed were by people who at least by Modern Standards were educated. It's PSYCHOLOGY; the psychology needs to be remolded by cultural and social re-engineering. Education is NOT enough.

              [
/I] Without any offence ever intended, I think that Pashtun feudal culture with warlords etc., is the same as feudal Arabia at the time of the prophet Mohammed - a very dangerous time for women; and women kidnapped by enemies, or for ransom - big shame on those tribes. Burqaa is a trivial issue in itself, as for me are just clothing; even with women who don't wear burqaas like Kuchi (nomad women) they're traded to settled disputes and are largely subjugated. This is the fault of Pashtun culture and no one else.

              "What's your point"

That "riches" as such doesn't lead to promiscuity, etc. , nor to apostacy.
I don't get it; your statement doesn't make sense; I think apostasy has to do with an inferiority complex. Not sure what promiscuity had to do with that.

I don't get it? You seem to have lost coherency; this statement seems to be rather arbitrary and unrelated

[/I]The Old Testament Bible is Thora/Judaïsme. Christianreligion is the New Testament and a much thinner book than O.T., and not difficult to read or understand. Whatever it is; doesn't change how flimsy and inconsistent its teachings and docrtines are. Christianity as it is practiced today (sans the Esoteric traditions like Gnositciism; which is considered heresy by most Christians) is not a very meritable tool for application.

Most people convert for acceptance and inferiority complex.

Iffor acceptance - they are lying to themselves, far worse to Allah.
'inferiority complex' cannot change someon's religious convictions.

Well that's what motivates most conversions to Christianity; it comes the idea that Christianity symbolizes Western society at least culturally speaking and thus to be able to be assimilated to it; you have to embrace its cultural symbols in some sense.

Somalia is thoroughly backward in all ways compared to Europe.
Whatever the case it's an inferiority complex driven motive

Not so, Ayaan saw/experienced the difference, thus 'My Freedom' book -as other apostates say 'Freedom' is most important.
These are just rhetorical statements; people throw around the word freedom Mindlessly without really Understand what the term means. It sounds powerful and empowering; but Freedom is much more complex than she understands it; Freedom comes with responsibility and responsibility comes with separating positive from negative

Ayaan Hirsi Ali uses the word freedom but ignorant of the real meaning of Freedom; In fact she's enslaved to the Psychological anxiety of feeling inadequate to a European. She saw and experienced the difference but her mental framework of this difference is contaminated with her own Psychological compleses

She is just a classic case of self hatred.

He's talking about the second post, NOT written by you. That's a bit stretching it on her/his part since anyone can write an article, say in the Washington Post and just about anyone can anonymously comment on it at the bottom. We see this everyday where random people talk about nuking Mecca and Medina etc. He can hardly hold you accountable for what other people may say, both pro and against Hairan. In such a case, anyone who has ever written critically about anyone on the internet would be held accountable for the comments on their blog/webpage etc. Besides, the particular member was banned and is not based in the West.

We have a few other famous apostates in Holland. One is Ehsan Jami. A homosexual Iranian who is an Islam hater. He is just like Ayaan a typical liar. Ehsan Jami claimed to be a victim of an attack that never happened.

InFlight, could I ask a side topic ? Is the last name
"Purin" a Dutch name ? It sounds Russian or something else to me.
                            If you have any idea.

Anyway, Barakzai did a good job of exposing the truth
dug up on that Ayaan. I had never heard of her.
Glad to know she is another huge FRAUD like
                            Norma Khouri.
I was going to start a thread on her awhile back.
A psychopathic liar who pretended to be the witness to
an honor killing in Jordan, raising money and sympathy all over the world.
However, a smart Jordanian woman journalist figured her right out
                            as a complete liar and the truth eeked its way back to North America ;
this woman's book was withdrawn from the market by her publishers
in the face of overwhelming evidence that she had grown up in Chicago.
                            Not Amman !

Pretending to be a nice conservative single girl, she was actually found out
to be long married to a possible mobster of Greek origin,
and to be a mother ! All of which she lied about in her numerous interviews in
                            Australia and the U.S.

She was not Muslim but Christian ; yet her book centers on a made-up
Muslim friend named Dalia ; the purported victim of the honor killing.

In fact, Jordan keeps careful records and sure enough, there was no
Dalia ever found in their statistics ! Nor any case like hers.

Moral of the story : none of us should EVER BELIEVE these
life stories with obvious agendas. Instead, all of them should be
investigated scientifically from the minute they appear.

That would stop this flood of garbagey lies.

Notice how really NICE books are never published about the Muslim world,
and haven't been for probably 20 years. Maybe more.
The publishing industry is COMPLETELY sold out.

PS - the Iranian homosexual in Holland was attacked - for being a homosexual ?
And he is now some sort of "hero" to liberals ? The world has gone CRAZY !

and still worse, to create or reinforce dark stereotypes about Isalm
                                and the Muslim world.

Another odious creature who falls into the category of adored outspoken 'feminist' is Taslima Nasrin.

There is a biography of her by a Canadian Muslim woman who first thought
Taslima was admirable. But when she tried to interview this new Bengali icon,
she was disenchanted by Taslima's severe narcissism.

That was in 2006, I believe. Since then Taslima became even more provocative
in her anti-Islamic statements, probably desperate to hold the attention of
Western intellectuals and "liberated" South Asians.

This is one point we fail to appreciate : these people who sell their souls
are empty inside and hence need more and more attention to fill up that huge void. So they make MORE outrageous statements to capture headlines.

The illness affecting them proceeds along these predictable lines.

This woman's racy books are banned or partly banned in both Bangladesh
and even in India, where she resides after a life of restless wandering [and
being cold-shouldered even in liberal Sweden due to her highhandedness.
No one could stand her !]

From wikipedia, a quick summary :
Taslima Nasrin (Bengali: তসলিমা নাসরিন) (also Taslima Nasreen), born 25 August 1962, is a Bengali author and former physician who has lived in exile since 1994. From a modest literary profile in the late 1980s, she rose to global fame by the end of the 20th century owing to her feminist views and her criticism of Islam in particular and of religion in general.
