It is not an issue of accommodating other ethnic groups, but rather are your interests there. The issue is that for the past 30 years the policy of Pakistan has been very antagonistic towards Pashtuns, this goes for Afghanistan and Pashtunkhwa. The ramifications and the bias of the policy is very apparent today. So I have hard stomaching this idea of their `support`for us.

Well, i think you are presuming the situation while living in Pakhtunkhwa, i have same obstacles as an average Pakistani has. I dont and didn't see any authority to stand oppose me on basis of my ethnicity. While regarding Afghanistan, the history shows its internal strife before invaded by USSR some 30 years before. And i think it was Pakistan who stood and fought it along with allies.

A very common misconception. The issue of Pashtuns and their problems do not require a reformist approach. The Indians were more educated than the Pashtuns but the greatest resistance to the Britishers came from the Pashtuns. Education should be the first post-independence priority of the Pashtun/Afghans.

Are we living in that era? And what post independence? you mean independence from Tajik, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Punjabis,sindhis Balochis etc. and built a landlock state? Is it so simple? Well bro, i dont think its practical now. And if we can live in more liberal societies which are utter opposit to Pakhtoon society just for an economic reason then why not face, prosper and compete with the existing ethnicites.

Btw, regarding education, your statement seems contradictory when you mention british as an advance force came from thousands miles away to your door due to their tech who subdue maximum world including indians.

^Swat: a pashtoon from swat or pekhawar might be a patriot pakistani, someone who backs and supports pakistani agenda against afghans... this brings a huge gap between me and that person.

I think most of you guys would consider me a staunch Pro Pakistani.

However, be that as it may, Feroza I can assure you, I do not put Pakistani agenda before Afghans.

I am as I always say, a Muslim Afghan Pakistani. That is the order of my allegiance. That is the reason why I have deep hatred for MQM.

Although you people are quite certain Pakistan wills only bad things for Afghans (be they Pakistani or otherwise), I firmly believe this is not so. If it were, I would be the first one to hate Pakistan. And yes, Afghanistan is our fatherland and I have been born and raised in Pakistan, and I do have love and affection for Pakistan as well as my motherland.

I do not see any conflict in being an Afghan and being a Pakistani, there are many false perceptions out there against this. I have never been convinced any of them are true. Different groups of people for their own interests would lead you to believe this is not so, but these people have their interests in mind.

As for the topic, The proper word is Afghan, the word Afghan represents a separate unique ethnicity and therefore a distinct group of people related by blood and DNA.

Pukhtoon on the other hand represents someone who can speak the language, which can also be anyone, even an American who has recently learned to speak it.

Therefore, use only Afghan for all Pakistani, Afghanistani and around the world real/true Pukhtuns.
