u see... afghans don't come only in pashtoon form... ...

afghans are tajik, hazara, uzbak, pashayee, noristani, sikh and many more.

if u respect and love afghans you should be able to take any afghan citizen to dinner or coffe and shoot anyone who points finger at that person...

the beauty of afghanistan is in having all different ethnic groups that live there... its a melting post of different culture... all very beautiful !

Yes, the modern state of Afghanistan is multi-ethnic. Historically, however, "Afghanistan" had always been a Pashtun country, empire or state or whatever you wanna call it. Right now, two-thirds or more of actual Afghans live under the state of Pakistan (where they comprise a paltry 15% of the total population), that's why the modern state of Afghanistan seems like an ethnically diverse political entity.

My dream is to see a state where Pashtuns form an overwhelming majority and live freely like the Hobbits of Middle-Earth.

Never going 2 happen! Much as Id like the same but states based on ethnicity can not survive, same can be said of religion etc

Pashtuns west of the durran line are becoming farsified and prefer farsi 2 pashtu ( Ive met ppl who are pashtun but can only spk dari) and those east of the line are becoming desified (ive met pashtuns who can only spk urdu) a big joke!

wrong.... the term afghan was only granted very recently 2 those ethnicities you mentioned and then only on a nationality basis... pashtuns are ethnic afghans those grps are nationality afghans.... One cld say the same abt pakistan for pakistani is only a nationality term... BTW I dnt support pakistan!

whatever they are granted the name for... nationality base or whatever. they are AFGHAN in afghanistan and from afghanistan.....

ethnic afghan name is a different term... isn't ever pakistani pashtoon supposed to call himself afghan? because i thought afghan is a term used for pashtoons... then why they dont?

I agree that a state based on religion cannot survive but why ethnicity? As far as I know, the modern state system was made to accommodate different ethnic groups into single states. Poland for the Poles, England for the English, Ireland for the Irish, France for the French and so on....

Im afraid they do,.... even now northern allience made up of those said proud patriotic afghans as u put it are on a rampage raping and killing fellow pashtun afghans.,... as for **** pashtuns not calling themselves afghan whthere they do or dont they will always be afghan by birth more thn can be said for farsi zubaan

yaara khpal mulk khpal eh, no matter where you are you will always be a foreign, even if you get a british passport you are still a foreign.
