Good life: when you have no responsibility and are free to do any thing you want

^ I know this is very rare

Good death: Good death would be when you die peacefully in sleep, you wouldn't even know you lived and died

This would be a good explanation if we were living under a khilafa where real Sharia was applied. Because according to Shariah, we should be living in a Khilafa...therefore according to your definition we are not obeying Allah...so muslims are NOT living the Good life. Do you disagree?

Wouldn't the good death be Shahada? Dying for what you believe is Moral? Can you say you are living the good life?

I am just speaking hypothetically so please don't take offence. There is no right or wrong here....things are the way they are because it is Allah's Will for it to be this way anyway...right?/rhetorical
The accusation of salafism is used by shia raafidh(rejectionists),however
I want to comment on your foolish questioning.

Shariah is that what is recorded in quran and the authentic ahadith, which the prophet (pbuh) showed us which is even recorded by the non muslims.
In which there is no room for interpretation. When something is black it is black and not white.

The moral life is that which is lived according to the rulings and teachings of islam,it may that you are non muslim and have moral life.

During the early stages there too was no khalifa, and it is in an authentically hadith recorded that the Prophet (pbuh) said : The Khalifa will remain, til Allah takes it away, and then Kingdom will come and remain until Allah takes it away, and then a time of fitnah will start, til Allah brings Khalifa.

so it is a good life that we are living but in the time of Fitnah.

Shahada you can achieve even while you are dying in your bed, many examples given by the authentic recordings (ahadiths) about the Companions of the Prophet (pbuh).
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

You tell me what your idea is of the good life.

It sounds like you are not sure which one is the good life - living a life of luxury or living like an aesthetic sufi.

No one lives a life devoid of any conflict. But in our present day and situation, in this world, in this life...how do you live the good life? Is it even possible?
you are right I am not sure what the good life is or is it even possible to live the good life or what it even means to live the good life. The question itself is kind of restrictive as definition of good is subjective.

My idea of a good life is probably, being at peace with myself.

                  Faye,
it seems you convinced your self that you are an immortal.
Your ego is even more grand that mines, to think that you have defeated death when all else have failed.
You are even more vain than actresses that sell their souls to be immortalized on film and in the people's memory.
                  Well congratulations...

so you must feel jealous of starfishes that lay in the sand at the bottom of the sea.

Let's assume you are ree to do anything you want, without any consequence to your actions - what would you do?

Wasn't the Holy Prophet peace be upon him a Khalifa? A vicegerent of Allah on Earth?

For all your talk of Islam, you have failed to recognize the most crucial mission of the prophetic line.

                  So be it...

So you are saying that according to a hadith, which is apart of sharia, we are living in a time of fitna. As I understand it during these times there is an absence of morality on earth. These are the times when the people don't even know the Qur'an and only a very few would say that they had heard their parents say Allah. So this time of ignorance is upon us, then who is to say that you aren't ignorant either? So if this is the time of fitna, then how can black be black and white be white...if that were the case, then there wouldn't be fitna, now would there?

So how do you live the good life during times of fitna? Isn't it a logical contradiction?

Some would say that you are lazy.

If you are a son, you have responsibilities towards your parents.
If you are a father, then towards your children.

You said earlier that a part of living the good life is keeping good relations, and the way to do that is by being a responsible citizen. So it seems that you too have two different and opposing concepts of what the good life is.
