a good life is knowing that your castle is in the sand whether you build it for the 16th time or not and a good death is a good life worth living for. people with no greed for life are cowards who are detaching themselves from it to avoid the pain when they don't get what they want from it. they don't know anything about the value of life or death.
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.
A Good life is the one which is lived Peacefully and without Greed.
A Good death is the one which is for an old consumed body not for the Soul and character.
Now think how funny was this answer.
Some would say that which you consider good is actually complacency, and others would say that complacency is a form of stupidity.
By definition death happens when your soul leaves your body...so I don't get it. I guess you mean you have to do something that your name would live on in people's memory? Elaborate please.
Good life is the life with good health and having good relationships with everyone and good death is the death with emaan.
How do you die with iman?
And if you are dying it means you don't have good health. So is the good life the avoidance of death and peril? Is the good life appeasement of others?

Simply by knowing something does it mean we act on that knowledge?
What kind of life is worth living for?
If life is the most precious thing to keep, then does that mean there is nothing worth dying for?
How about you?
Are you a Sheppard?
Do you know what the good life is?
Im a journeyman,traveller.
The Good life is the life of Morality,In Laws of Shariah,Obdience (to Allah as God alone and to his Messenger (pbuh)).
The Death of every sincer muslims is a good death, they are smiling while they face death in person.

Health has nothing todo with death....
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.
a good life would be getting free flights around the world and a good death would be whilst snorkelling on a pristine reef. a quiet heart attack or sumptin, like.
do not judge me too harshly, my lord

Alchemist, you are becoming like DazahroJaam shouting at everyone.
Anyhow Thanks to Allah I am in good health but I have seen people who are not in good health and I have seen their sufferings, they say they have nothing in this world except the good health. Even myself when I become ill or having tooth ache I wish I have nothing but this pain goes away from me. So good health is bounty in this world.
I have never said the avoidance of death. Life and death are two different things. As long as you are alive there is no death and when death comes then there is no life. So we can't mix them both.
Depends on what is meant by good. good is subjectve term if we take God out of the equation. to an atheist/agnostic person, a good life might be helping humanity, and being selfless, having empathy whilst to other atheists/agnostics it might be living a life of happiness, luxury and contentment.so on the hand from an theist point of view, following God's will and trying your best to live by his commandments is the good life no matter how many ups and downs you have.

I understand you want to give a text book salafi answer here. But I don't see how what you say is universal. What is considered Shariah is interpreted differently by different sects, so in a way everyone can claim that their way of life is the good life because they are following the will of Allah.
This would be a good explanation if we were living under a khilafa where real Sharia was applied. Because according to Shariah, we should be living in a Khilafa...therefore according to your definition we are not obeying Allah...so muslims are NOT living the Good life. Do you disagree?
Wouldn't the good death be Shahada? Dying for what you believe is Moral? Can you say you are living the good life?
I am just speaking hypothetically so please don't take offence. There is no right or wrong here....things are the way they are because it is Allah's Will for it to be this way anyway...right?/rhetorical

So a good life is an idle life...figures since you have the mentality of a 4 year old child.

You are just telling me that you being alive is good.
And then you are saying that as long as you are not in pain, it's good.
I am talking about "The Good Life"...not just "Life".
Think about what would be the good life.
You sound like a man who has no ambition at all in life.
And it doesn't bother you. I don't think you want to know what the good life is...just sayin.
Oh and comparing me to DZJ...just horrible. The worst comparison and the worst offence. You will not be spared for it.

Forget about the rest...
You tell me what your idea is of the good life.
It sounds like you are not sure which one is the good life - living a life of luxury or living like an aesthetic sufi.
No one lives a life devoid of any conflict. But in our present day and situation, in this world, in this life...how do you live the good life? Is it even possible?
