  • Do you feel pakistani ?

Hi everyone, I have questions for people from khyber pakhtunkwa,
I discuss about it with farishta ( who is also from waziristan )

Well I have double nationality ( Canadian and Pakistani )

    When people ask me :
    -Hey where are you from

    I answer :
    -Waziristan !

    -where is it ?

    - Pakistan

    -ok so you're paki !!!

To be honest, I know that i'm Afghan but i NEVER went to Afghanistan !!!

I went to Pakistan, three times,
I know that you gonna find it stupid, but Afghanistan is nothing for me ! I dont know this country, I never be there...

I feel more PakiSTANI than AfghaniSTANI ...

being a proud pakistani is ten times better than an afghan wannabe who has never seen afghanistan but is in love with the idea of being an afghan. pakistan and afghanistan are not that far away from each other. geographically speaking there is nothing magical on this side of the border that doesn't exist on the other side. it is wrong to assume or allow for it to be assumed that only people from a certain side are capable of being noble and all that.

well you cant really take the word afghan out of pakistan..as the guy who came up with that name included afghania in it..I am a Pakistani, i wouldnt call it pride..the feeling is more like the attachment you have to a place you can truly call your own i.e. your home

as i said before, before 1947 there was no pakistan. in recent history almost of KPK was afghan land upto jhelam, constantly fought for by mughals, sikhs etc

all pakistani pashtuns living there stood their ground, you were not moved away by the sikh, hindu or brits, no one changed you into some thing else.
it is admirable that politically names have changed, yet you have kept pashtun culture, pashto djiba, . . . as long as you dont end up speaking urdu or english with your children you are mashallah doing well.

rest is all dirty politics, games and manipulation . . . this ISI manure . .

I have to agree with you...you are right....We were living in our lands for hundreds or thousand of years, we were speaking pashto and were following pashtun culture...1947 che Pakistan ra bande nazil sho...Creation of Pakistan was very significant for indian mohajirs and muslims of east punjab...but it was not that much significant for us...we were told that muslims of Pakistan are liberated from hindus, but our pashtunkhwa was already muslim majority...neither we participated in Pakistan movement before 1947...its just that a refrendum was held in 1947, in which we were told to choose between pakistan and india...
After that there is contineous brainwashing of Pashtuns. We became "desi", we were told to prefer urdu and that pashto is just a local langauge. Jinnah contineously tells us to be pakistani and forget about being baloch, punjabi, sindhi and pathan. When we feel proud to be pashtun, you are told that in islam regionalism is haram. Islamic card is used to suppress our natural expression of identity despite the fact that we are most practical muslims of subcontinent. Islam na khabara ar yada shwa, zia ul haq installed jihadism in our areas, and today we are mocked for being taliban...we are checked on border of punjab because any of one can be a "taliban"...i have myself witnessed heroes of kashmir war, mehsuds being kicked by faugi boots...they made us extremists and now they are killing us for being extsemist.
Ya i am a paki, a humiliated one. Pathan jokes by desis dont hurt me...its hurt most when our afghan brother show racism and hatred against lar pashtuns, our pashto is mocked, our looks are mocked, our ways are mocked, our ghairat is questioned, our dhaal is insulted, we are called traitors...to hell with lar o bar yo afghan

I call these type of people afghan wannabes. There was a Pashtun from UK belonging to nowshera (KP) on facebook, He was saying that he is afghan, and that we cant be pakis because we are not dark-skinned and ugly...!
It seems to me that whites in UK are racist towards pakistanis and indians, so our lar pashtuns there try their best to deny their connection to pakistan and become "afghan wannabes"...

One reason people do deny being called pakistani is because of the behavior of punjabis over here, why would I wanna be labelled with them?

Its interesting that you concluded from my post that Punjabis are bad people. I dont hate Punjabi people.
Punjabi simply dont know much about pashtuns so they use stereotypes related to pashtuns like they think that pashtuns are brave, hospitable, imaan-daar, honest, hospitable, deep in friendship etc or they also think that pashtuns are clowns, low IQ, gay, wahabi, harsh on women etc... It doesnt mean when you interact with them they would call you with such titles. On the whole they are civilized people and will have good communication with you.
The people in pakistan who really hate Pashtuns are urduspeakers of karachi, i have come across many of them. They really dislike pashtuns.
