My parents have two anniverseries that they celebrate....their nikkah which is around Valentines day And their wedding ceremony which is in November.

They both celebrate it, my father doesnt forget his anniversery. He always buys her something special. The last one was their 22nd anniversery, alhamdillullah.

Overall i just think it depends on the couple. Some couples remember it each year, and some couples just dont really care much about it.

LOL i just love hearing about my mom and dads marriage......i look at them in envy because what i see, is true love, pure understanding and compromise. That is why i trust my parents 150% in choosing my spouse because i know they themselves found a perfect match.

I think its important if the wife finds it important. If she does find it important and you forget - then you better start digging your grave. But, me personally - I don't like anniversary days, women get so many expectations and often are disappointed things didn't go the way they wanted. Of course, this isn't all women. I find random surprises and random dates to celebrate being together are more memorable - they aren't expected, they sweep you off your feet, and everyday is important together, not just once a year.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.
