A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
You know, as important as it is for couples to remember each other's birthday's, anniversaries and etcetera, yet I am not into all this. Celebrating anniversary is good on term that you will remind yourself of the day you got married, what went right that day and what went wrong. The happiness of starting a new life but the sorrow of a girl leaving her parents' house. These are all really very beautiful memories to remind yourself of every now and then! But I myself am a VERY dull and boring person in this regard. What's most important for me is trust, I just want his trust for rest of my life because I have trusted him since the day we got engaged. They say when you love each other too much it's possible some couples are gonna doubt on each other on smallest matters and keep arguing over smallest things, and that's exactly what I want to prevent in my life.
I do love and respect my husband and entire in-laws, but I am just not (what you call) a romantic person, I don't believe in remembering every small but beautiful detail about each other, even though I know those very small things could make a partner very happy. My husband on the other hand is complete opposite of me, Khudai pak de khair ki, LOL.
