We need to do away with that mentality or else our sorry state of affair will never improve to wait on some one else to come and make it any different. Go in thousands to your Kandahari president, make the earth in Kabul shake and demand the millions for your universities and hospitals. When has that happened, and shouldn't Kandaharis do that?

Is this not true though? Let's be honest here, do you really think the Afghan government is not corrupt, and not full of war-lords that have the bloods of thousands on them?Originally posted by ComradePashtun View PostThis is a silly excuse "they don't trust the government full of warlods".
I don't have such high qualifications, nor am I a political scientist unfortunately. I do know that we have qualified people, and they refuse to work with this current corrupt government.Well come and change the government how you want it to be, you come and be the role model.
They will come off of it when the government meets the basic prerequisites of a functioning society. Do you think Afghans enjoy living as muhajirs in foreign nations? More than $50 billion in aid, and Afghanistan is still in rubbles. Take the south for example, the minute someone speaks in opposition, he is shot dead. Just last week a bunch of tribal elders of Kandahar were shot dead by 'unknown' gunmen. Let's hope for the best.NO EXCUSE! It shows how politically savvy we are not. Once our people sit on their donkey then they don't come off it!Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

They did do that. Every time Karzai visits his home province, he leaves with a bunch of promises, which are later broken anyway. That has forced the local Pukhtuns to stop trusting him. Even his relatives are aware of this. Initially, Kandaharis were supporting him, but one they realized the real deal, they were left with no other choice. And this isn't just about Kandaharis, it's about Afghans. I can provide you with a ton of sources that show the wide spread Afghanistan has. Afghans shouldn't be shy to constructively criticize the nonsense they have witnessed.Originally posted by ComradePashtun View PostWe need to do away with that mentality or else our sorry state of affair will never improve to wait on some one else to come and make it any different. Only Afghans can improve Afghanistan. There is no doubt about that. The minute you depend on foreigners, expect strings attached.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

Helmad is doing better than Bamian, Ghor, Daikundi, Faryab, Logar, Samangar and many other provices. How many govt universites do you think there are in the country? Let me tell you there is Kabul, Nangarhar, Paktia, Balkh, Badakhshan, Herat and Kandahar. But yes there are tens of private univeristies, mostly in Kabul and Nangarhar!
Yes Fahim is a warlord or war-criminal or is mafia. That does not change anything. Why are Nangarharis and Heratis doing better?
That is faulty reason in Afghanistan's case. Why is Fahim the problem of everything in Kandahar where as Nangarharis don't give a crap about him and with Gul Agha Sherzai as their governor their provice is doing the best in the country?

Unlike many, and I am sure you know this, I support the reconstruction and revitalization of the Afghan economy. I am sick and tired of Pashtuns dying on both sides of the Durrand. I am sick and tired of seeing humans in general dying. We all bleed red at the end of the day. Also, I am aware that provinces like Herat are doing spectacular, but that doesn't change what I initially said, which was that Afghans/Pashtuns are suffering daily, and they are marginalized. Is this true or not? I don't understand as to why we are going in tangent. You asked me why we are marginalized, and let's look at what the word means:
Treat (a person, group, or concept) as insignificant or peripheral
If we were significant, we wouldn't be getting blown up weekly on both sides of the Durrand. And I rest my case. Are we to blame? Absolutely. Have we seen minor improvements? Absolutely. There is obvious foreign interference, which is serving as a stalemate for any progress. But that doesn't mean we have to sit here and act like the picture in Afghanistan is gloomy and bright. Widespread corruption exists on all levels, since we have neighbors fighting for leverage in Afghanistan.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

Yes Afghan government is corrupt. I am just merely pointing out to how much of the state we are in in Kandahar can be improved without asking much from the goverrnment and how much fault lies with the people there. I think people are realising this in Kandahar there was some social mobility there last year and I hope it gets momentum. Kandaharis need to rise to the occassion than sitting on the fence.

Admin, what makes you think that Herat is getting more attention than Kandahar or for that matter Nangarhar? Why is Khost and Nanagrhar doing better than Kandahar?
I know we are marginalised, so what can we do remedy that? What do you think? Just sit and not do noting. I know the suffering of my people and it hurts me more than any one, this is not the place to mention it (I will pm u about it) but I am actually pratically doing things to make the lightest differnce in my own capacity. I have to also be honest with you I am disappointed with Kandahari elite and some people in general.

We are on the same page here. You need to however under the context of the situation. It's not like they are just sitting and drinking shnai chai. Kandahar, as you know, is still the capital of Afghanistan according to the Taliban. They have openly declared that if you support the government, or any of it's elements, you will suffer. That's the policy in the south. And since the recent wiping of a village in the South by NATO force, the Taliban propaganda has been working and they have proof to show as well now. NATO kills a bunch of civilians, and the Taliban don't really have much to say or do at that point because the locals are so angry, and are thirsty for revenge. Like I've told you before Comrade wrora, I personally don't share my personal opinion on Afghan/Pashtun affairs. I am just telling you what others have and what authoritative sources have to say about Afghanistan and the demise of Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand.Originally posted by ComradePashtun View PostYes Afghan government is corrupt. Im all well as far as i know of alhamdulilah, and yourself?Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostManzareh,
I hope you are in good health.
The probability of Pashtuns of Afghanistan losing their language is far lower when compared to our brothers across the line..
and I agree bro your right.
But thats not the point, its a pashtun country, why should that even be mentioned..obviously in a pashtun country your going to have pashtun newspapers etc now flip the coin, and tell me the amount of dari newspapers etc???Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostPashtuns of Afghanistan have Pashto newspapers, Pashto TV channels(increasing rapidly), and Pashto websites. Nearly every Afghan related website has an option for a Pashto page. ..
But Pakistan or Pakistanis dont claim Pashto or for the country to be a pashtun country, thats the difference so we cant deny a national language overiding pashto because pashtuns are only a minority.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostNow apply what I just said to Pashtunkhwa, where a government website is strictly only in Urdu or English. Aside from that, Take a look at the internet. Nearly every major Pashtun related website you find will be from Afghanistan. From Benawa, to Larawbar, AOP and the list goes on and on. Now, whether a site is from Afghanistan or Pakistan does not, and should never matter. A Pashtun related website, whether it's from Pakistan or Afghanistan is the same thing, as long as it's serving the interests of Pashtuns...
What do the 50% non pashtuns of afghanistan think about this, and are they happy?Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostAs far as education is concerned, having Pashto as a national language, and a requirement in all schools in the south, and a requirement to have a government related job holds a lot of weight, and means a lot. When you have currency bills in Pashto, from a bank named 'Da Afghanistan Bank' that sort of clears up many misconceptions about the status of Pashto. Not to mention, singing the anthem in Pashto daily also plays a great psychological role....
that is as unacceptable as singing the punjabi national anthem in punjabi in paksitan, its a paksitani country not a pashtun one so singing the national anthem in pashto is not going to happen. but if they did then yes it would essentially mean they would want to research their background and history, it aint gonna happen until we have our pashtun country though.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostImagine singing a Pashto anthem daily in Pashtunkhwa. In Pashtunkhwa, if they begin offering a Pashto anthem, they will realize that they are Pashtuns, and the language they speak is Pashto. Which will essentially mean that they would want to research their background and history.....
agreedOriginally posted by Admin Khan View PostUnfortunately, since they are used to singing in Farsi every single morning, little think outside the box. If you begin brainwashing a kid at the age of 5, it's sort of hard to tell the man when he is all grown up about policies and 'stuff' that negate his original teachings. And that's exactly what we are witnessing today..
Thats my main point broOriginally posted by Admin Khan View PostAfghanistan isn't perfect either right now. The present Panjsher dominated government doesn't represent Pashtuns. It's obvious that the Pashtuns have been marginalized in Afghanistan, As days pass, Pashtuns of Pakistan and Pashtuns of Afghanistan from the north are losing their language and culture, and they are working on illogical reasons to justify their loss. After all, Pashto is associated with jahalat, and we Pathans are associated with being chowkidaars...
Whether its better or not isnt good enough, and not something we should settle for just because its doing better than afghanistan you see, it not a competition, were losing our identity despite whether afg is losing it at a lesser rate than KP. in KP they are obviously going to be losing it faster because there tied to a nationality that isnt pashtun.Originally posted by Admin Khan View Postthe picture isn't so gloomy in Afghanistan either. It is however, 100x better than Pakistan where Pashto serves as nothing more but a local language, despite it having 30-40million Pashtuns..
Ture, sad and unacceptableOriginally posted by Admin Khan View PostPashtuns from northern Afghanistan are resorting to Persian, while nearly every Pashtun of Pakistan is forced to speak in Urdu...
You hit the nail on the head and this is exaclty why i route for a pashunistan (even how outrageous it sounds) what else can we aspire for that will unify us?? i think youl agree if our pashtun afghan patriots continue their alliengence to afg then their yeilding to the mockery you mentioned same with the pashtuns in karachi.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostIf you ever visit Karachi, you will quickly realize what our status is. We are mad fun of and we are the primary source of entertainment in Pakistan, by non-Pashtuns. Nearly every Sms joke revolves around us. Even the local Keyla wala or Tamatar wala laughs at us when we attempt to speak Urdu. Even the local Peyaz wala at Panjsher laughs at us when we attempt to speak Farsi. The moral here is that we need unity. We have to realize that by attacking each other, we are serving the interests of our enemies. Let's put things in proportion for you real quick. I assume you are a Yusufzai? If you are a Yusufzai, you are probably either from Kabul or Kandahar to begin with. But unfortunately, most aren't taught this at all. If you think about it, it makes sense. Why would Pakistan want to educate you on your Afghan background? Why would Pakistan want to tell you that once upon a time, you left Kandahar to settle in Swat? Why would Pakistan want to tell you that you share the same blood with the Pashtun of Jalalabad?...
What saddens me the most is when more than one autimatically thinks i have never been or visited afghanistan the minute i say something which isnt music to ears to afghan patriots, it doesnt matter were he is from, some assumations are wrong just how people assume i have never been to afghanistan because i dont call it a pashtun country as a whole.Originally posted by Admin Khan View PostWhat saddens me the most is when one automatically thinks Levanaye Zalmaye is from Afghanistan the minute he speaks out against the obvious state of Pashtuns in Pakistan. With due respect, Pashtuns never lived under statehood, they ruled whatever their tribe could rule over, plus they hardly went to war for nationhood, most of the times, it was over promises of war booty and gold, as we can see with the case of Nadir Shah and co.Originally posted by Levanaye Zalmaye View PostMost Pashtuns on the west of the Durrand Line think of Pashtun reunification as part of the natural order of things and as proud Afghans, they will never accept the Durrand Line.
On the other hand, most Pashtuns in KP (who have no notion of Afghan history and study history from the perspectives of Bengal and Uttar Pradesh) want to continue to serve a country where they represent 8% of the population (in the last census, only 8% of Pakistanis wrote down Pashto as their mother tongue).
Afzal Khan lala said in one of his speeches that before the division of Pashtuns, they used to rule huge territories and were the most powerful people in the region. However, ever since the Pashtuns were been broken into four pieces, not a single prominent Pashtun has been able to leave his mark on history and instead, the social, political and economic conditions of Pashtuns continue to deteriorate day by day. He said that the weaker and less developed half of Punjab is ruling the Pashtuns of KP and their aim is to take over Kabul as well. This is the reality of Khushal Khan's descendants. He spent his whole life fighting the Mughals and his sons are now the willing slaves of the remnants of the Mughal empire.
Punjab throws these KP Pashtuns a bone and they wag their tails in gratitude. "Look at the bounties that Pakistan has given us...". Those people have no idea of what a nation is and are confused, misled and indeed, brainwashed.
Pashtun unity is the only factor that will bring lasting peace to the region as a whole. However, it's very unfortunate to accept that the biggest hurdle for Pashtun unity is the KP Pashtun mindset. They would rather serve than rule.
We have never lived as one, and with the way things are going, never will do. Tribalism is very strong in the Pashtun world, and I doubt seeing it gone, we are probably the only people on this planet who still live in a tribal system, I think its going to take a very long time before we start seeing any form of progression.
Pakistan has a educated elite, it has a progressive elite, Afghanistan use to, but warlords looted and booted them out to Europe and America.

Its a well known fact, that the reason why Northern areas tend to have more focus, is because they are by far more open to assistance and ideas. In the South, the people are victims of strategic depth, and Taliban do have a support base there funded by Pakistan.
I respect the Farsi-lot, they realised the dirty tactics of Pakistan and burnt their embassy down, now Pakistan finds it difficult to infiltrate them.
