LOL Scholar came into the Jamat today....

One of the questions was Do you need to get your first wife's permission to marry another wife?

Answer: In all four mazhabs you do not need the permission but a note to you all. When it comes to marrying more than one wife All the men become Hanafi which states it Sunnah to marry more than 1 wife and makes it fard on the wife to take care of the house and children. And all of the women become Shafi which states it sunnah just to marry 1 wife and doesnt declare it fard on the women to do the household jobs.

I thought this was funny lol. He also added a side note that most men who marry more than one wife without the necessity is because the wife doesnt pay attention to her husband and is busy with other things. He said prior to marriage the women wears perfume and nice clothes and when they marry she starts smelling like onions and dressing ugly. LOL
