According to Nick, there is no such thing as a "Tajik" ethnic group. He has a pretty convincing theory.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Born in Kabul, familly has lived there too, and south of it. Originally paternal side Durrani aristocrats of Kandahar who came and settled in there as courtiers. Mother side from Loya Paktia. But I have relatives in Jalalabad too, quite an extensive web of family relations almost all over Afghanistan, including Jalalabad. BOOM! lol

What were you doing in Afghanistan if you don't mind me asking. So you went there during Taliban time, bcoz it takes you about 4 hours from Torkkham to Kabul and 3 hours from Jalalabad. The roads are nice and neat now.

Let me know when you are there next, I will come and pick you up from the border. Aw samee manzereeh aw chakaroona ba wowahee.
Actually, a person from Maidan Shahar whom I met in Karachi and became friend with took me to Kabul...And yes, it was when Najib government had fallen and Taleban were about to take over (before that)...

ComradePashtun thanks a lot for the generous and brotherly offer...I will sure let you know...By the way some of my poet friends frequently visit Kabul...

There isn't such a thing as Tajik ethnic group. Tajik were originally referred to any sunni Persian speaker. It has even a derogatory usage as well, back in the days.

I see. Wallah come and visit bro. I will be so happy to meet you. By the way, I have never lived there before or durring Najib or Taliban, it is only recently over the past nearly 9 years that I have been visiting Watan, and I now know almost every corner of it. I even have an old banger cruiser, quite decent, which can take us from A to B. Don't worry if you come and visit I will change it to give you a comfort rid around the country.

Really that is good. Kabul has an amazing Engineering Department. Nangarhar Univeristy is nice as well. Try to pull some strings and see if you can do an internship with a professor for a while.
