Well hypothetically you can seek the fulfillment of many of these things without marriage. How many Americans have live in boyfriends/girlfriends, or have a "friend with benefits".The desire itself is fitrah, but the desire exisst to serve a purpose, when it's no longer in that purpose; it's no longer fitrah but "deviated instinct"; that's what you see with people acting on their sex urges outside of marriage. and It's not because they hate marriage; maybe some say they do but only because we have made things so difficult and social norms have declined our maturity levels. It's mainly because people make doing things the right way so hard.

The more you repress people the more dangerous consequences arise. We need to becareful of this Monastic/Nun thinking that's crept into Muslim society; the more we go to extremes, the more extremes occur. Notice when society starts promoting restrictive values; the counter effect is people become more wanting to engage in loose behavior.

sir please, there was no evil of the sort that we speak of when adam pbuh and bibi hawa rw were around. a marriage ceremony is a lot more than just a defense mechanism to prevent people from committing sin because a, it does not prevent people from committing sins..b, if such was the case, then why don't two random people in the street just get married the day they see each other and get it over with?? with out bothering with comparing their personalities, religious backgrounds and whatnot...?
marriage to me is a bit more than that and i am sure i am not the only one with that opinion.

Not necessarily... the photographer caught me unaware while listening to a speech. Roshina thought I was rolling my eyes in boredom.

That's partially true, but not all Yemenis are pure other, there are many Yemenis with African, Iranian, Turkish, Indian or South East Asian origins. This is especially true for Hadramis i.e. people from Hadramout. Most of the pure Arabs are in the North, Hadramis were originally pure, but because Hadramout is known for its coastal seaports, Yemeni traders used to travel from there and often come back with wives from Iran, India, Indonesia, or foreign traders would come to the region and marry local women, the later case is somewhat rarer however. Hadramis tend to look somewhat different than Northern Yemeni, often more South Asian, my mom however for some reason looks Syrian.

marriage to me is a bit more than that and i am sure i am not the only one with that opinion.

I don't get your contentions? They seem like you're merely trying to justify repression and regard sexual needs and wants as some sort of inferior condition or motive; when really if you believe in Allah 'izza wa jal, and from what I gather, I assume that you do; they were functions "created" by him for a very meaningful purpose. If that is in fact how you see things, then I feel you have a very superficial understanding of the importance of sexuality in human life and why we have such a serious system of regulations regarding it.

I think what's evident here is our different understandings about the issue. Since marriage is an important feature of Islaam, I believe Islaam was meant to return human kind to be in harmony with their Natural State; as Mahzala mentioned, their Fitrah. The laws and rules of Islaam are fashioned around that, that's why in the Qur'an Sharif it say " faqim wajkaka lil deen hanifan allati fitrata Allahi fatara al-nas (Qur'an 30:30)" , which is often translated, "follow the proper religion which corresponds to how Allah created human nature". Hence the role of marriage and all other aspects of marriage are intended to be a vehicle which supports these faculties.. What else would be the point of seeking a Muslim husband/wife if we somehow disregard the the purpose and function of Islaam in regulating our lives in the first place? This reduces religion into being blind rituals, something Islaam teaches us not to do. This doesn't mean other concerns are not significant; but everything has their proper relevance and function; the function of compatibility, religious backgrounds, physical attraction are to facilitate "that" to it's true and proper aims. And that is why it does prevent evil, the reason there are examples where "that" seems contrary is because of these awkward and bizarre contradictions of repression/indulgence we have as a result of not properly addressing the function of marriage as vehicle for sexual fulfillment and reproduction. It's not ironic that when attitudes like this pervade in society other weird sexual imbalances erupt, like pederasty. Directly related to this derogatory attitude about sexual needs and wants.

So when you say marriage to you is a bit "more than that" ; then I have to be bold and say that you have a very superficial and somewhat narrow minded understanding of what "that" actually is, and perhaps others do as well. But "that" is actually much more profound than you give it credit for. It's no mystery though opinions like this are products of society pushing people so far away from their natural senses that they've turned against them negatively, definitely a very unhealthy condition to be in.

that girl is very cute; but in response to your statement, bedu are actually more pure Arabs than the rest usually, they only intermarry amongst themselves. I think the reason my mom is mixed is because she's Ba'alawi, which means she has some Iraqi connections as well.
