Dude, lol. I can't beleive we're using the term "haraam" JUST like that in EVERY topic! I mean, get this:Originally posted by Punjabi View PostIts Haram, stop, it has certain conditions in which it is allowed. That is it.
love marriages are haraam
having boyfriends is haraam
wearing JEANS is haraam
shaping your eyebrows is haraam
wearing make-up is haraam
smoking is haraam
having a sheen khaal is haraam
belief in evolution is haraam
mixed-gatherings (of the genders) is haraam
talking to the opposite gender is haraam
wearing perfume (for women only) is haraam
singing and dancing are haraam
listening to music is haraam
...
... and the list NEVER ends!
OMG! SAYS WHOOOO? Please give your sources, folks. Gosh, just make LIFE haraam, why don't ya.
And what IS halaal? :S
We seriously need to be more careful about issuing all these rulings just like that. What if we're making something HARAAM that's actually supposed to be HALAAL? Gosh.
But, anyway, I still need you to prove your claim, Punjabi bro. Whatever you just said "it's haraam" to, please tell us who told you, who are they, what are their credentials, or at least name the book/article/etc. you read it in so we can check ourselves who the author/"scholar" is.
Mananas (thanks).

No, DZJ. I have no intention of manipulating anyone. I'm into Gender Studies, so I know (and actually appreciate) the importance of people's gender when they make claims like "women should do this" or "men can't do this" and so on.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam View Postto you it doesn't. it allows her more power over manipulating you in to believing what she wants you to believe so it does play a role.
And, no, I Do NOT want people to believe what I believe. Please, let me have my own beliefs as they are while everyone can have theirs. I don't believe in blind-following. EVERYONE should question EVERYTHING I say when I don't provide sources -- or just my thoughts when it's my personal opinions. I have absolutely NO respect for people who fall for everything they're told, and that includes people who believe everything *I* tell them, even when I don't support my claims when evidence.
That's just to say, you are not correct in you reasoning for my asking Punjabi for her/his gender.

when you get in to a situation the aoutcome of which is more than clear to you, you are about to manipulate it.
a situation is place or incident in which activity takes place. the activity in this situation is him telling you his gender and you explaining your answer to him accordingly. hence, manipulation.

It wasn't a response. it was a question about your gender. And I would ask it again and again whether you choose to answer or not -- only, your refusal to answer makes me believe you're a male. You wouldn't be talking like this if you were female.Originally posted by Punjabi View PostThat is an ignorant response.
Gender means nothing in such a topic. Its a view and back with a source posted in the thread regarding this.
Gender means EVERYTHING in EVERY topic, but *espcially* in topics that relate to what's haraam for each gender and the roles and rights of men/women.
And males are more likely to say "shaping eyebrows is haraam" while females aren't AS likely (unless they're fooled into believing it's haraam, of course).
Males are also more likely to accept all the restrictions placed on women, whether by religion or by culture, than are women; women are more likely to challenge them, question them, and ponder over them before accepting them.
Also, you do know that the way women scholars interpret Islam and Islamic law is very, VERY different than the way men scholars do, right? If you don't know yet, look into it. It's a big deal out there, you see. If you can't find anything on it, lemme know and I'll give you at least 30 works (articles and books) that I had to do annotated bibliographies for.

Qrratugai
I have noticed your vieled attempt to show your an athiest and unsatisfied with Islam.
Its quite obvious with you constantly attempting to justify everything as Halal and complaining how everything is Islam. feel free to leave the religion if you dont like it. I will appreciate it if you can not propagate lies here. I have been guesting this forum since it first opened and such hideous responses need to be corrected.
Salamoona.

Hi there, Khatarnaqa! You must be new. Welcome to the forum!
"veiled"? Qrratugai doesn't do anything in a "veiled" manner. You must not have read my posts, and that's why you say that.Originally posted by khatarnaq View PostQrratugai
I have noticed your vieled attempt ....
I say EXACTLY what I want to say whenever I think I should say it. If you have a problem with anything I say, tell me so in that specific thread/post and we can talk about it.
LOL. And what exactly would make you think that, bro? (I'm asking for specific posts and specific comments of mine in specific threads. Just saying "all of your posts are like that" doens't tell me anything; just saying, "you're an atheist or at least hate Islam" doesn't work either. Prove it by giving me MY own quotes.)Originally posted by khatarnaq View Post... to show your an athiest and unsatisfied with Islam.
If I've claimed something as halaal when it's haraam, which I highly doubt I've done anywhere, can you please direct me to that post of mine?Originally posted by khatarnaq View PostIts quite obvious with you constantly attempting to justify everything as Halal
ALSO ... if I say something as significant as "Such and such is NOT haraam," I am more than sure that I, knowing myself, MUST have justified it. Hence, what are your justification for claiming it haraam then? Can you in any way refute my evidence or claims? Why not just do it right there and then in the thread where it's being discussed?
Such as?Originally posted by khatarnaq View Postand complaining how everything is Islam.
Oh, believe me -- I don't need ANYONE'S permission to leave ANY religion that doesn't impress me, wroraOriginally posted by khatarnaq View Postfeel free to leave the religion if you dont like it.
I woudln't seek yours or anyone else's opinion on my ever wanting to leave Islam if I wanted to.
BUT... I don't believe in "leaving" or "accepting" religions just like that. I believe in studying all from every possible perspective. And, so, I might reject a certain interpretation of Islam but not others. Get what I mean? And the ones I reject are the misogynistic ones, which unfortunately happen to be the ones accepted by our typical Muslim.
And exactly which lies would those be, bro? Please direct me to ANY post of mine where I've spread a lie about Islam, and then tell me why it's a lie. AND tell me what the "truth" is.Originally posted by khatarnaq View PostI will appreciate it if you can not propagate lies here.
Wow! I'm actually very glad to hear that my posts compelled you to join us, man!Originally posted by khatarnaq View PostI have been guesting this forum since it first opened and such hideous responses need to be corrected.
BUT! Have I, or anyone else here, ever stopped you from correcting any, ANY, hideous responses at all anywhere? I don't remember doing so. Please, by all means, join me in ANY thread where I've said something that you didn't find palatable, or that you didn't agree with from any particular religious point of view, and I'll be delighted to continue any discussions already going on -- or to initiate new ones, if need be.
So, again correct me where I'm wrong, but you must provide sources for any claim you make, or at least good enough reasons. I do not lie, and never remember lying anywhere on this forum or anywhere else. Whenever I've given false information, it's always been a mistake on my part, perhaps because of my not having enough knowledge about it, in which case I don't usually talk on topics I am not very knowledgeable about. The ones I DO discuss or bring up, though, I make sure to have sources ready when me in case anyone disagrees or things the information is wrong -- but my only request is that all interlocutors be able to prove it when they claim I'm wrong. If they can't find proof, then they must not make such a claim at all. I mean, just saying "All Muslims believe this, and everyone agrees you're song so that PROVES you're wrong" or "scholars say so" (you gotta name the scholars; what istheir credibility? What exactly ARE they scholars in? Where did they get their "ijaazah" (permission) and/or degrees from? Who are/were their teachers? ).
I hope you get my point.

About the MAC lasting spray....here is a link that may help you http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...0201519AAdXk09Originally posted by darkwitch View PostDoes that mac makeup lasting spray actually work? If you have oily skin, foundation is probably not a good idea. Have you noticed how after a few hours, your skin feels oiler, a sweaty feeling, and like you have this shin on your nose, chin, or forehead....yeah foundation tends to do that.
What you should do is go for foundation powder or mineral makeup powder it helps to conceal the shin and excess oil your face produces.....For dry skin, foundation helps, but not really for oily skin.
Yeah i believe MAC has some good eye shadow primer...but personally i wouldnt pay extra money for it, like i said, try dabbing a small amount of concealer that you use, if you do. It helps to act like a primer and it helps for the pigment of the eye shadow. I recently started to do it, and i am pleased. Try it for a day, and see if it works for you.
If the concealer doesnt work....go to Sephora or Macy's and get the Urban Decay Primer Potion....it works well.
oh and another thing for oily skin, use those rice papers or the Clean and Clear Oil Shine papers....they help during the day, just wipe anywhere that is oily, dont worry it doesnt remove makeup or anything......hope that helps hun

@ Darkwitch, the Coastel Scents work very well, they are long lasting too. Its great for a night party like a wedding because it doesnt crease and it lasts through out the whole night. But still use my eye primer trick.
No problem, anytime ladies
