I would agree.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View Postdear kutiya sher
i wish you had been a bit more forward with what it was that you intended to say in this post. are you suggesting that i am having an affair with the moderators?? or that they are under my spell of the magical powers of black magic?? i am sorry to disappoint you but nothing of that sort is happening.
i get my posts deleted all the time. i have been warned to be banned from this site many times. i have been approached about my choice of adjectives many many times by various moderators as well as the admin himself. just because i don't make a public scene out of it every time doesn't mean i get off the hook that easily or that anyone is in my favor. as a matter of fact, i avoid interacting with moderators and the admin on the base of the fact that i don't want them to do their job and not be on my "side". i haven't talked to bls ever since he became a moderator and i have barely exchanged a few words with mayana.
don't assume that i make my way through life the way you do. you and i are two totally different people. i am not going to compromise with my principles by sugar coating my words and dipping them in honey before presenting them to people like you in exchange for assured access in this place. there is absolutely no satisfaction for me in that. this is the way i deal with life and this is exactly how i well behave in here. i will hold nothing against the admin or the moderators of this site if/when they decide to ban me from here. until then i suggest you gather yourself a posse deal with your frustration some other how.
I AM DONE WITH THIS THREAD.
o, and don't forget to brush your teeth twice a day. before you go to sleep and after you wake up. it will help you not smell fish all time.
You have posters grouping together on here, all the ones usually with claims of having met warlords, interviewed them, drove their jeep, fired their AK, had dinner with them, and then you have the realistic posters.
I'm not sure if this is an age thing. Could be a mental age thing, or a cultural thing. Could all be from Bangalore perhaps.

I wouldn't call the Burqa an invention.Originally posted by adilshahidI have to say that this Burqa is atleast an Afghan invention compared to the Iranian/Arabian black one, so I prefer it. But I am against it in the first place.
It's a foreign idea to Pashtuns. Someone took the Persian or Arab or Chinese veil and decided to create a fashion out of it.
It is still a foreign invention, though the embroidery might not be.

I'll repeat. The veil/Burqa is not a Pashtun tradition. It has only been used by Pashtun women in the last few hundred years as a result of foreigners trying to attack Pashtun lands.
Find something from 1400. That would strengthen your argument. I say 1400, because I know before 1100 there was no such veiling at all.

where on earth did i state the burqa originated in Pakistan, Europe, or Africa?Originally posted by unknownprinceroadrunner, this thread is about support for a form of hijab that women can choose to wear. No one is debating the roots of this.
I assure you the burqa did not originate in Pakistan, Europe, or Africa.
The Burqa is modification of the face veil worn by women in pre-Islamic Persia and pre-Islamic Arabia.

Since when did "language" mean "person"? dohOriginally posted by unknownprincewhat the hell are you going on about. There is not linkage evidence that links Pashtuns to anyone. The origins are obscure ok.
No research done by some retard German ethnologist will answer this.

I didn't say the Attan was Punjabi.Originally posted by unknownprincethe Burqa is Afghan OK.
You want to say the Burqa is Chinese?
Next you will be saying the attan is Punjabi !!!
Whenever you can't answer something or get cornered, you start putting words into people's mouths.
It's a weak method of arguing.
I did however say that the Burqa/face veiling is not a Pashtun tradition. And I'm pretty much 100% sure of it. It is clear that you all can't prove it to be a tradition since you would have presented the evidence already.

The possibility here is that the Burqa was a tradition in Persia and it got shifted to Afghanistan through these Qizilbash women.
So it's not a Pashtun tradition imo.
Wiki proof that face veiling is a pagan Persian and Arab tradition:
There is evidence that this type of dress was worn by some Arab and Persian women long before Islam. For example, the Roman African Christian Tertullian, writing in Chapter 17 of The Veiling of Virgins around 200 AD, praises the modesty of those "pagan women of Arabia" who "not only cover their head, but their whole face...preferring to enjoy half the light with one eye rather than prostituting their whole face." Strabo, writing in the first century AD, also refers to covering the face as a practice of some Persian women (Geography 11.13. 9–10).Last edited by Guest; 02-26-2011, 09:49 AM.
