By the way, who thinks that women *have* to wear a bikini when swimming? Has any female ever TRIED swimming without a bikini? Well, unless you believe you should never, ever swim in front of men at all, try it -- NO ONE stares at you. NOTHING is wrong with it.

It's all a matter of how confident you are in walking to that pool/beach with a raised chin and a ready smile for anyone who looks at you.

That is, of course, unless you don't mind wearing shorts while swimming, which actually DOES work for many Muslim girls. That's a different story then.

lol... wow. You know how it is, just trying to be "Islamic in the West" We seriously make our own lives FAR more miserable than anyone else could make them for us! I mean, "halaal henna"? "Halaal swimsuits"? My God. What's next, halaal university so all "pious" and "holier than though" people can send their kids there? Halaal city, so such people can live there? Geez.

lol. Qrratugai It means "talkative person"! Qrrate = useless talking, or ranting, and so the person who does that more than superfluously is called "Qrratu" :D I added "gai" to it just 'cause

I understand your point, but when you're doing wudhu in a public place, be it the library, uni/college, work or whatever, you hardly wanna whip your socks off. In some cases this idea may actually be helpful.

LOL! And what's wrong with a muzzy uni? :P

Halal henna, does this mean the plant used to obtain the henna was slaughtered the correct way..?

I like swimming, sure I do (only if I knew how to...I am learning, I tell ya).

Well, like I said earlier, I would not swim in the presence of men, not even my own family men. I find it rather embarassing at my age going up and down in the water with clothes that look like theyre painted on my skin in front of someone like my father, uncle, brother or even younger nephews. Not a good sight I think. I say someone, because of who they are. And even among women, its good to stay within limits. I wouldnt go higher than a three quarter at the bottom and a sleeveless on top. I hope that answers your question.

Because, first of all, I would NOT swim in the presence of men, thus absolutely no need to cover to that extent. Secondly, Hijaab is not limited to covering your hair. Theres much more to it.

You know the Hadeeth that says that one of the signs of the day of Judgement is that tight clothing among women will become so common, to the extent that it will look like they've been painted on her, revealing everything - this suit is a clear example of that. Not a nice sight. I still remember how much I laughed when I first saw it...

I am learning how to swim... i love love love love love water... did i say love? yes yes i love water... so what i did was sign up for an all women's classes... i attended one class and waiting for the next session to start... i bought the same pants and shirt type of swim suit... but i don't have anything to worry about caz its all women and instructors are women and not a single man is allowed inside during the class...

but me being me, i still can't wear the western swim suit so i wear similar to the picture above...
