Even 1 dollar spent for shallow and empty notions is a waste of resources, it's not the charity that's being concerned here; it's the misuse of what God has given the world. Something used to gratify an impulse which could be used for much better and more meaningful things.

Ghebah/Backbiting cannot be used in a general term, when kakagirl talked about people who do certain things it could be anyone that does them, it cant be backbiting unless you know exactly who your backbiting about. if thats the case everysingle member here at PF is a compulsive backbiter. The prophet PBUH has also said things about people that do certain things, does that make him a backbiter? ovcourse not nauthubillah.

Well that wedding sure was too much Bollywood influenced even for an Indian like me. I am glad Sikh weddings are solemnized in our temples, Gurudwaras. Cuts out the stupid show of wealth. But yeah alcohol is often served at the dinner.

And how attraction is normal./ Everyone knows this. Is there a need to go on and on about it?

What is your obsession? It seems to me that you are obsessed!!!

Brother, the reason I mention Natural this and natural that is because there's a severe problem in human society, not just Pashtoons, but Arabs, Pakistanis, Iranians and even Americans.

What's shameful at least Islamically is when someone gives details of a specific woman, for example saying "such and such woman has large ...." because this is violating the sanctity of a woman to be used for enjoyment. This is not the same as one describing what one finds appealing; never was there any censuring of descriptions of what finds appealing or attractive as long as it's not explicit.

Can you show me where in Islaam, where merely saying what's appealing to oneself in woman's appearance is deemed shameful? Indeed we can find even in the life of Nabi(saw) we find descriptions of his sexual practices; if this is acceptable, how can something much less detailed be shameful?

To merely stand up and declare something shameful is not proof that it is, perhaps it's not the act itself that is shameful, but the eyes which twist it into being so that is. Of course I'm not claiming that shamefulness is merely perception, but those things which are actually shameful have an actual basis outside of merely perception. There is no basis here other than some misguided cultural norms.

we have turned things which are innocent and pure into corruption and have made corruption into things which are acceptable.for example we consider suicide attacks virtuous when they're sick; but consider what appeals to humans naturally as loathsome.

Islaam is " Deen al Wasata" the balanced path, don't enter extremes.

You dont mean to say that Sikhs in UK conduct the wedding ceremony in the party hall itself and in the presence of alcohol? Do you? That would be very much against the directions of the Sikh governing body.

I am not that religious but yeah I believe Sikh weddings in the Punjab would have less of free flowing alcohol than the ones in the west. We too have alcohol, but only after the wedding is solemnized in the Gurudwara. And yes the drunk uncles dancing phenomenon happens here as well. Another thing that frequently happens in fights. Some old feud or rivalry is remembered at gatherings and often punches are thrown..!

I mean, honestly, that's ALL your family appears to be talking about, how beghairat other Pukhtuns are. Introduce them to reading, guley; it can do wonders! I just saw this comment. That's mean Roshina. I expect more from you per our good back and forths. Come on, how was this comment about what a Pashtun is and is not that you made to Wrayun any different? You defined improper male behavior here.

Roshina: I'm sure you believe there's a purpose behind this thread, but you call yourself a PUKHTUN with the above statement? And you have no shame in making such a statement? And then you say that's an advertisement BY Pukhtun secular citizens? What? And you tell me you know what secularism is? Which secularist scholars have you studied to get this idea from? Which books and articles have you read to get an understanding of secularism? I must look into them as well.

Its not like kakargirl khor singled anyone out here on the forum. Morever, it was not as if you yourself advocated or take part in the behavior she criticized, like most traditional pashtun girls would do back home. I guess what i mean is that she did not take it to a personal level.

I must confess, that is one interesting Pakistani wedding.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

If you don't want to be silly, you'd take more care with your wording.

A part is different to apart.

In fact they are direct opposites.

A part is to include; apart is to separate.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was pulled into British India, for sure, but culturally and historically, always apart and not a part.

why are you trying so hard to prove to me that you are smart? i'm not buying it. after all anyone can cut and paste from google. and still you are WRONG. as for the red part "a part" means "belonging" it does not mean "to include". now stop embarassing yourself.
