    Pashtunforums Jirga

    Pashto khidmatgar Admin lala and my humble self plan to create a library section on PF. Many members are very active and theres a great amount of information and links uploaded on PF but as we all know links and pages disappear from the net every now and then and we dont want information to get lost.
    We are discussing right now the most comfortable way to create a section to make this information available not only for PF members but to every pashtun brother and sister out there.
    The idea behind is that is to avoid endless searching through millions of PF forums and to provide an overview of literature, academical works, books etc structured in a logical way.
    We have decided to call a 'jirga' and to ask PF members to take part in it so we can discuss this alltogether. Please share your views and provide your suggestions, have a nice day.

      OK, my thoughts ... I like the idea of a library ... and whilst I think it should be open to contributors to, it should be moderated as part of a quality process.

      We have lots of social conversations and minor distractions that happen here - I prefer my libraries to be archives of quality information.

      Oh ... I came across a Google Book that can be downloaded in PDF format. I'm not sure that google books are "forever" so perhaps these are the kinds of things we should download and share.

      Another one was Olaf Caroe's "The Pathans" book in PDF. I remember on another forum, I linked to the source and lots of members downloaded - me too of course. Problem - the link is now broken and my external hard-drive (about 5 years old) stopped working.

        I think we should have a sub-section in our literature forum named Kitabtoon. I can upload all these PDFs to our server and post them in separate threads so its well organized.

                I see, yes, I agree with you. It would keep things organized.

                    non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

                          A section for Pashtoon poets.. not mix poems.. all poets should have their own topix

                          The library should be in 2 parts... Old and New pictures.. we dont want to mix both old and new pictures in one topic or section..
                          A section for war victims or stories of war victims

                            im in kabulnow and i dont have internet connection
                            but illbe back in 1/2 weeks tell me if yall need something any books or maps

                              i like admin khans idea of a "kitabtoon" sub-section in the literature section. this sub-section should be open for all contributors that want to share books and articles. no discussions should be allowed just like nazia sis said.
                              to discuss a particular question you can made a separate thread.
