I remember when this forum first opened. Every Afghan flocked here. It was thriving. People from all sides would contribute. It had like a "user of month" or something like that. People made this place their home. they wanted to build this into the best forum for Afghans. Within months, this forum put so many other forums out of business.

The debates got heated, yes, but people still were contributing, because they could. There was no one sided administration.

The mods were men and women, from different views. It helped a lot

THEN...the religious fanatics held Admin Khan hostage and basically forced him to dance to their beat...or was it that Admin Khan was waiting for this forum to become popular before freedom of speech was censored?!

To be honest, Admin Khan made this the best place to come and chill, and then he himself ruined his own masterpiece by giving in to politics.

It's sad to see this place dead. The people who helped to kill this place have all left.

This site only reached about 1700 visitors at most. The only reason why you see it at 5000+ at once is because one member, i forget who it was, who was hated the most for his free thinking, posted some news article that attracted people from all the over the net.

The Muslims of this forum ruined this forum.

Yes, my Tamim is Arabic. The name existed way before Islam. In fact, Arabic existed before Islam.

Whether the Pashtun are Muslim now or not, is not the issue. There are people who want to leave or at least do not want to follow the tenets of Islam. Among the Pashtun, as is with many tribal mentalities, when the elder of a community accepts something, no one questions. So, as such Islam took root. For this reason, it does not mean it is the right religion for the whole Pashtun population. Heck, the Prophet married for politic reasons, simply to bring peace and understanding to the Arabian Peninsula. So, it would be absurd to say that Islam was accepted by individuals en masse.

Today, many Pashtun are killing their own elders for giving in to Western forces. These elders just want peace nothing more, yet they are being killed. Imagine, if 1400 years ago there were some Talibs who killed their elders for accepting Islam? Today, you would not have "Islam" as part of the Pashtun identity.

On the contrary, i feel the over bearing neo-atheist and Kafir types have destroyed this forum. Most Pashtuns are Muslim, when they come across this website and read their faith being attacked by 1 in every 2 members they go away, they just want to come and engage with their brothers and sisters how they do in real life and have a laugh and joke, they don't want to constantly have to defend their faith or be blamed for the world politics. No Pashtun wants to join a majlis fuelled by apostates on some atheist missionary movement in every topic. Admin should ban the Islamopheobes here and watch the forum come back to life.

The idea of having a forum for discussions was a good platform many years ago. The forums that are still active today are the ones that have good moderation and moderate with moderation.

This forum is weird, it presented itself as a "Pashtun" forum but failed to mention that you must also be a Muslim or refrain from being critical of Islam when you registered.

The idea of Pashtun being critical of Islam is nothing new. Heck, it's pretty much understood that Pashtun have only accepted half of the Quran. Also, most of Afghanistan's free thinkers are Pashtun. Tajik people are more strict about observing Islam and being Muslim than the Pashtun are.

So, this whole idea of Islam and Pashtun being one is simply that Islam has fused itself with the Pashtun culture. It's the same as being Arab today. Most Arabs are Muslim, but this is due to Islam spreading and became their official religion.
