It is not about a book cover but rather making a mention or an introduction to forum readers of a book by a well known Afghan writer who brings to life popular folk culture of urban Kabul during the mid-twentieth century through short stories in the book. As an Afghan I very much appreciate the fact that our rich culture is being introduced to English readers around the world. I am not certain why this would be bothersome to you.
Because posting randomly you create a mess in the kitabtoon. Make a new thread in a proper section (for sure not in Dari books!) called book recommendation or so and post there the cover. Can you see the difference?
But it would be nice if we could have an intelligent and civilized conversation about it without remarks such as "you are not welcome here" or "find yourself another website".

Would it be nice? For you? Then enjoy your time here
Because of your signature, I think your stay here is a part of your job. So tell me, what are your duties here? What kind of posts you are allowed to post here and how are you going to interact with users? Are you going to present Centcom comments? Or maybe you are here to make fake friendships and encourage people to collaborate with Centcom? There were several users with Centcom signature and after few comments they disappeared. I think some of them were banned. Are you one of them? And my last question - why does Centcom want to penetrate this online Pashtun community?

Dear Aria, if you read my post, please find yourself another website.
BTW, kitabtoon is a place for books (kitab - book, toon - one of formative suffixes using to create names of the places), not for book covers.
Is it clear that you are not welocme here ?
who are other users of centcom?

Thanks for the reply. I absolutely agree with you, Afghans are very intelligent. If given the opportunities, only the sky is the limit to what they can achieve. Take a look at these links.

Thank you so much for your response and trying to provide clarification on the location of my post, although I still do not understand how it could create a “mess” when posting in reply to another user who has posted on a book about Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan. I do like your suggestion, and moving forward we will certainly open new threads on various topics. Anyway, be that as it may, let me address some of your other concerns. Yes, as my signature indicates, I do work for CENTCOM and I am definitely not here to build fake friendships, and certainly not to encourage, or influence anyone in any sort of “collaboration with CENTCOM”, in any way, shape, or form. That would not be the reason why we engage with audiences across the Middle East, including Pakistan and Afghanistan. We are representatives of the Central Command, who speak Dari and Pashto, and have ancestry from all parts of Afghanistan. We love the country of our birth, and the country we live in, which has given us all the opportunities, freedoms, and unlimited possibilities of what we can achieve. We want the same for Afghanistan, and Afghans; education, progress, freedoms, peace and prosperity. So, no, the relations we would like to build with people on this forum, whether it continues to friendship or not, are not fake. I am not sure why some members left the forum, as you mentioned, and I can obviously not speak for them, but if members with a CENTCOM signature were banned from the forum, I find it very unfortunate. Why would you want to cut the flow of communication and dialogue with us when you have questions and concerns that directly relate to U.S. military and government? This is an opportunity to ask questions, build relations, and voice your concerns to us. This place can serve as a venue for all of us to express our side of the story. I personally think this is what is preventing us from making progress; when we ourselves, put road blocks in front of us. That, I find, is the real tragedy.

^ So you listed the reasons for which you did not come here. The language you use sounds to me like official propaganda. Is it your own dictum?
You still didn't write why you have come here. Could you please clearly answer to questions from my previous post?

I do not have any questions and concerns. If it comes to Afghan matters my views have been clearly shaped because I have had the best mentor and tutor. As you can guess, Centcom or other US agency wanted unsuccessfully to recruit that person.

I hope you realize how propagandaish this sounds. Also sounds like you're either extremely caniving or extremely gullible.

The various incarnations of CENTCOM have came here mainly feeding us the American Military-Industrial Complex narrative of their international activities. Rarely they'd address questions regarding inconsistencies with their narrative.

I hope you actually can address those questions without reverting to jingoism as you have in this post. I Welcome your stay as long as you can exchange cogent dialogue and not merely evading or diverting.

Rest assure, I am not here to feed anyone any "military complex narrative" (not even sure what you mean by that). On the contrary, I am simply here to have an open healthy debate and dialogue on various topics, doesn't even have to be military related. If you visit the Centcom Dari/Pashto facebook page you will find that we highlight the best of Afghan culture, society, events, progess etc. Here is the link if interested www.facebook.com/centcomdari
Having said that, I thank you for welcoming me and I can assure that I am not here to "spread propaganda, recruite, or influence" anyone in anyway. At times I may not agree on the same issues, but I will always respect the views expressed by others as everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions, and I am certainly not interested in "evading or diverting" questions.
