Abusive and unsolicited private messages

I recieved a private message from a troll to whom I had made it clear that my conversation with him/her/it was terminated.

The message was abusive and carried racial-based insults and taunts. I have sent a copy to admin and warned the troll not to persist in his/her/its behaviour and not to send unsolicited private messages to me ever again.

For the benefit of everyone else, since I myself do not know:

1. What can members do when recieving unsolicited and abusive messages, e.g. how can they block the offendor?

2. Any other additional information that members might find useful.

I dont think its just about PM abuse. I think the only manner of discussion holding this amazing forum back from taking the step toward becoming a phenomenal home base for Afghan think tank style discussions is the inability to answer an intellectual statement with anything but: "You Afghanis hate Pakistan and want it to fall apart" + "You are an Islamist" + "You are a Paki" + "Camel Jocky".

I mean think of the Doha Debates. The moderate throws out a suitable subject and asks the question in such a way that debate gets sparked. The debators dont go: "Well Tim you must be an Islamophobe since you made that comment about the veil" They are expected to provide a rational rebuttal of the statement.

Rather, I urge that just as curse words and slurs are depicted as follows by some filtering rendering the words as ****** that the words Paki, Camelism, Camel Jocky be added to that filtering mechanism.

The next step should be immediate reporting and deletion of posts that answer without citation or referencing and with swan song responses. For example, if Admin Khan posts a an article about Barak Obama and his stance and Mr Obama writes an evidence derived article... anyone who answers with: Obama is not American and he has no birth certificate to back it up should be immediatly asked to furnish proof. If they cannot... the comment should be deleted. I understand the reporting reporting mechanism is there for this purpose, but perhaps a greater attention can be paid or at least more manpower can be alotted to moderate the Political Science, Culture, and History threads to this effect.

Bengal tiger, you've only recieved one ,i'v recieved so many,best thing to do is not answer them , don't give them time of day, people only do that when they can't win a debate they turn to abuse like kids do, it just shows they really don't have any brains or standards at all, even my barakzai abdali wror has recieved them in pms and even on threads it makes me sick, how low people can go , admin wror gets abused on threads and yet hes the admin, so to be honest your not alone in this.

When we go at eachother and things become personal no doubt. However, you will be hard pressed to provide proof for anything baring simalrity to this little pearl. If an article is up, why should Toramana be able to deride each and everything he disagrees with as "Paki" or "Camel Jocky" ridden?:

Besides, I cannot help it if you cannot furnish proof for your views. I wont accept emotional arguments, even if I agree with them in principle. That is an uneducated way to approach topics. The Admin Khan himself has a post sticker here somewhere asking folks to furnish source when they make claims.

being 'uneducated' doesn't invalidate peoples views. some people have lived and their education is from that, not just from good memory of what they have read in books. if you are not capable of self analysis then you should 'educate' yourself in that field.
