Whether we agree with her ideas/actions or not, no PF member deserves a bashing thread.

I have had at least 34 threads devoted to me in the past year. In the overwhelming majority of the topics, I was criticized for various reasons. With the aforementioned said, in a public forum you have to expect criticism[as long as it's not bashing, and as long as it fits our rules]. Now with all due respect, can you please show me where Wrayun insulted/attacked Catya Sher? And I say the above with the most polite tone possible. So don't read too much into what I wrote. I don't mean to have a condescending attitude at all

Let me make this more easy for most of you:

Wrayun finds Catya fishy, so he makes a thread about it. That way he can clear his misconceptions about her motive and intentions. Wrayun questions Catya with basic questions. A few members in response want to question Wrayun for questioning Catya, and Wrayun has decided to offer his refutations to the claims made against him. Sounds like a healthy discussion to me, up until I see Fbombs thrown around.

i think a thread that contains talking about "fist fighting", insulting parents, and replying to each other in sour tones like a grumpy 2 year old is more towards chaos than a civilized criticism thread

It's not the original posters fault. It's not his fault that he has to deal with a bunch of lunatics who fail to carry a basic discussion. We shouldn't blame the thread for the bandwith it's consuming, instead we should be pointing fingers at those who are issuing death threats just because someone dared to question them. I know what you mean. I also find their behavior as shocking, but PF is all about human development. None of us are perfect, you have flaws and so do I. We have a role in PF, and that is to help develop our peers into effective communicators. We need to coach our peers in PF so they don't make complete clowns out of themselves in an actual real life debate. So yes, you have a point that a few members simply can't discuss a topic without resorting to violence. That however should not prevent us from intellectual debates. It's your duty as a PFer to show your misguided friends the correct path. The same way it's Randolph's duty to enlighten us about wrestling and comic books. That was a joke Randolph. :-)

We need to first identify the problem before we can work on the solution. As much as members argue here, they care about one another. Trust me, I would know. One of the main purposes of this platform is learning. We all come here to learn and exchange our ideas.

That's your opinion. One of the perks of being a PF member is you have a right to have an opinion. You can't shove your opinion down someones throat as a fact, nor can you call someone ignorant for refusing to adhere to your opinion. If you want to argue that he is brainwashed, you will have to perform some extensive research on your part. And to be honest with you, I am not quite sure you want to take that route with me.
