Hello! I wish to learn more about the Pashtun Community as well as learn Pashto.

I am an avid gold prospector / processor. On my off time, I enjoy travel with friends and family.
I am a "Gold Digger" as they say... The constant search for precious metals never ends. Platinum, Gold, Silver. . . Someone is always selling, and I am always buying.

          Greetings, welcome aboard.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

          -Ferishta, 1560–1620

Uh, no... I can write the alphabet down, and somewhat recite it, although I have no clue how to put them to gether to make words and sentences. I have studied the phrases and what not but *blank stare* .. Which is why I decided I cannmot do this on my own and I need some Pashtun interaction. .

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I come from the US in search of gold! Haha just kidding! I do come from the US, and I just wish to learn a little Pashtu/o and make some friends along the way. The gold thing was just a little humor since it seems now a days if it isn't fighting its all about minerals in afghanistan (or so it seems). I currently travel around a lot, mostly to Philippines, Thailand, Australia...

Thank you! How do you pronounce your name? I recognize the 1st two on the right, and the last 2 on the left but I am clueless as to whats in between. I still do not know how to write words or sentences in Pashtu, just the alphabet and poorly at that.

Welcome and share with us your experiences that should some one invest in gold? will the prices will rise constantly like the present or it will stop rising?

You are invited to join the Pashto language section and lessons. like any other language you need basic grammar, vocabulary and practice.

Well it is not so much investing in gold that I am into. I prospect on my off time. And by that I mean I just spend some time in the outdoors with family and friends, enjoy the lack of techological interruptions (such as facebook, instant messages, phone calls, etc.) Its just a good time spent looking for gold and processing it into pure gold for personal sale (or as most of us do- as a keep sake, something to cherish the memory of the good times)
But if, you are interested in prospecting to find gold process it and sell it (I've worked with people that do that too- they spend 8 hours or more a day just digging up gold and give it to me to process it while they dig up more...) While the latter isn't so much fun, it does have its perks.
Hunting for gold and processing it doesn't take a whole lot of work or know how... or start up money for that matter most things can be made by hand from scrap material. I'm not on this forum for this purpose though a few trheads did catch my eye. I actually do wish to learn Pashtu/o, and will check out the language sections, although how do I know which ones are worth my time? What got me started wanting to learn pashto was this site: http://mylanguages.org/learn_pashto.php But I feel like it is leaving out something I do not understand the grammer rules of pashto and thus all I have been able to do somewhat ok is write "da Pashto Alif"
