HelloOriginally posted by Lief View PostHi!!
My goodness! how could you deal with an Afghan guy for that long :POriginally posted by Lief View PostI've been going out with my afghan boyfriend for 9 months, he is living in the Netherlands.
You said he lives in the Netherlands. So my guess is that you two do not live in the same country?
That may not be your only problem here.Originally posted by Lief View PostThe problem is that his parents don't accept that he dates a non-afghan girl (some brothers and cousins agree with my boyfriend but not his parents).
So they have an issue of dating outside of the race. But, did you consider that it might be the dating in general. We are Muslims and Afghans, dating is not accepted religiously or culturally.
Has he introduced you to his parents?Originally posted by Lief View PostI don't know if we have any chance to continue with our love or just we have to give up.
Do you really accept his family traditions? If you did, you would have not started dating him in the first place. Or you would have ended it right when you found out that you were not going to be accepted by his parents.Originally posted by Lief View PostI respect the family's traditions and I never could accept that he looses his family.
Good luckOriginally posted by Lief View PostJust I need some advice or if someone is at the same situation. Thank you.
I know that this cultural issue seems too much, you might wonder that they are being harsh in not considering a non-Afghan. But, you are with a person who comes from a hard background and that is the reality of it.

Donno how can I deal with him, but he's so charming and all
. And no, we don't live in the same country... I planned moving there...

No, he has talked about me. More with brothers and cousins about how to do for his parents accept the relation.

And I've know all that since this weekend, because I trusted that he could deal it and he hasn't told me the contrary. I've read about different situations in afghan relationships, and also with no-afghans in Internet, so I didn't know what to think about.... And he also doesn't like to talk about thefamily...ThanksOriginally posted by Laila View PostHello

Lief don't move to a country for a guy that could live you. I have seen many Afghan men who married non-Afghan, and the main problem was not that they are not muslim but just the thing that they are foreigners, I also know some Afghan men and women who married muslim, Turks or Arab and still peopel where gossiping about them and saing that they have lost there culture, and the parents were not really happy about it. If that is the case whith this family ( actualy the majority of the parents that are against there child marrieng to a foreigner is becuase they don't want there grandchildren to forget afghan culture). You wouldn't make a chance becuase even if you totaly convert to Islam they will see you as an outsider. And I am saing this becuase Afghan are also afraid for the divorce. They think that non-Afghan even if they are muslim will divorce easally if things don't go there way.

You are very intelligentOriginally posted by roadrunner View Postthe harsh truth is that you're all ill educated semi literates on this thread
Some Afghans will make a cultural issue out of it, as will some westerners, as will some easterners. Some will not. To generalize would be inaccurate.

He has a girlfriend for 9 months and his parents are racist against non-afghans ?Originally posted by Lief View PostHi!! He will break the family links and disobey the Lord just for lust over someone who goes to the toilet and smells like s*** ?
"Love" is not AT ALL behind this.
Satan is behind this.
Satan is with him because he didn't avoided prematial relationships.
He has two problems, none of them are his parent's reaction.
His two problems are you and the fact he disobeyed the Lord.
Cut all links with him and leave him forever or marry him immediately or expect a lot of problems in the future.
You are not the first person in this situation. I've seen a lot of people exactly in the same situation and I saw how they ended up.
