  • New . From Libya .

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
    Assalamu Alaikum

First of all , in sha'a Allah you're fine and always will be .

I found out about this forum as I was googling , I'm Mohannad Azzuz , born in 1983. from Libya, currently working in Kuwait . Previously I was in the United Arab Emirates and during my period over there I got so much interested in the Pashtun/ Pathan culture and met some nice people from there , I also tried to learn Pashto which I love hearing , but due to some reasons I have stopped , but I'm eager to learn it !

So far I have found 3 Afghani channels on our television , RTA , Ariana Afghan and Ariana , but I would love to have a channel fully in Pashto.

I would love to visit both Pakistan (especially Peshawar) and Afghanistan .

Yesterday , 9th of September , was the day Ahmad Shah Massoud got killed in 2001 . I only came to know about him recently , and I believe he was a strong man . May peace come to Afghanistan , Pakistan and all the lands .

Many reasons , including (but not only)
the nice people I met , my friends , the language , and maybe the little similarities between Pashtun and Arab culture .

                Masha
Aha that's cool . I can confidentially say that most of the Pashtun people I have met are nice , whether from the tribe of Yousafzai or other tribes/families .

Salaam Alek Mohannad. Kaifa haluk? Motasharefon bema refatek.

Ana atakalamo kalilan men aloghat alarabiya. (My Arabic grammar is a little wobbly at times, apologies).

What draws you to Pashtoons? Pashtoons are spread throughout the Gulf and you will know from your time in Dubai, that outside Pakistan and Afghanistan, the UAE has the biggest Pashtoon population (mostly guest workers, but some families too).

P.S. Ahmed Shah Massoud wasn't a Pashtoon and opinions vary considerably inside Afghanistan and beyond. On this forum, you might find a critical opinion.

P.P.S. My brother-in-law's family used to live in Libya. Hope the situation there levels out soon.

Your Arabic is good , just keep practising and watch Arabic news and cartoon ('cause they usually use official Arabic unlike most TV series).
And please don't apologize , we all learn and make mistakes .

Yes the third population exists in the United Arab Emirates, I was happy to see many over there , here in Kuwait I can't see that much .

What draws me to Pashtuns ? Here are some of the reasons :

                              - I met some really nice people who are Pashtun .
                              - One of my very best friends in Dubai is a Pashton ( Afridi Malikzai) .
                              - There are some similarities between their culture and Arab culture .
                              - Pashtun people are usually innocent , that's a very personal opinion .
                              - When I meet a Pashtun person I "usually" feel happy .

Yes Ahmad Shah Massoud was Tajik , but he was an Afghani so there's some kind of connection . I have noticed that some people have different opinions concerning him . But this is normal I think with most public figures .
