    as always, tacha kore.

    I am still wondering about this though;

    can or would one identify themselves as both Pashtun and Nuristani?

      if mom is Pashtun dad nuristani than they likely identify with nuristani.
      vice versa,vice versa.

          I have just learnt some new stuff from this topic .

          Mr. Bernard , it's good that you research and not just do what is given to you without putting your own ingredients .

                I have a new question;

                can anyone help me with the topic of beards in Pashtun culture?

                are there any specific customs or traditions that address the growing of the beard?

                or is it just personal preference?

                again, I remain so grateful for the outpouring of help and offers for help.

                Inshallah, the research will pay off in an authentic portrayal.

                  i believe the pashtun tradition of having a beard is based on the sunnah.

                  unless i am mistaken, there is nothing in pashtun culture which demands having a beard. though, a beard is a sign of manhood.

                  there are pashtuns who follow different things regarding hair length and the sort. eastern pashtuns, especially in the paki tribal areas will have long hair and a pakol, whereas southern pashtuns will have short hair and a lungee.

                  btw, can i be an extra in one of ur movies?
                  There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                      hello friends,

                      I have a couple of new questions involving the history of Pashtun dress and custom.

                      how would a woman from a village in Nuristan or a Pashtun village in the east dress in 1981. the wife of a Khan.

                      how many wives would a Khan from this time period have?

                      amongst the mujahideen, would there ever be woman around to cook or do other such duties while the men are at war?

                          I think you mean wives and ex-wives . Islam only allows four or less .

                                you know, graveyard. I bought these clothes, the pakol etc off an online Afghan clothes store and I wear it every day on the streets of new york.

                                you should see some of the looks I get.

                                some very friendly and some not so friendly. I feel proud to dress like this.

                                I also like the clothes!

                                unfortunately I can't upload the show. or even the rehearsals. union rules.

                                but I plan on keeping up the video blog.
