Look, Amin Wardak should have been selected without any question for a leader of Afghanistan. But instead his family was treated badly and continues to be to this day, apparently, by American ignoramuses!
They select only the least qualified and least talented figures, those who will do their bidding without murmur.

Wardaks -- at least that family and probably all -- will not bow to anybody but remain fiercely independent. A good model for the entire Kabul "elite" which cravenly bowed down to conquerors.

Let's pray Inshallah that the people of REAL INTEGRITY, like Amin and his brother, another capable commander against the Soviet invasion, will be given major authority as soon as "the coast is clear". In short as soon as the American meddling stops. That might be some time after a military departure.

These people are EXTREMELY intelligent and capable. They speak foreign languages well and thus could help the country to recover.

I met a couple of generations going back to Amin's father, the revered figure, Ghulam Hazrat Wardak. One cannot say enough about how good they all are !

Oh, great, thank you Fahd for showing interest!
I was pretty mad that no one cared!
I was thinking here's this unbelievable HERO
and not one of you shows any sign of having heard of him!
I was just browsing and saw this thread show up again, I'm so glad.
I was going to stay away from PF.
But this brought me back in a hurry!

I see laghmanking asked about his qualifications.
                        QUALIFICATIONS ?!
This person should be a top leader of Afghanistan.
He would acceptable in theory to the Western side because he has a VERY VERY distinguished track record stretching way back.
However, he was so principled he refused to agree with the American takeover of Afghanistan, so perhaps he wouldn't be normally figured into their calculations.

He is Islamic, unlike any of these pretenders - I mean fakers who are floating around.
But not so unpalatable to America, I would HOPE, that they couldn't have someone like him have authority for the next stage of Afghanistan.

He fearlessly wrote very positively about Maulavi Jelaluddin in his book. They got along really well, cooperated, and there was a lot of respect.

So for the West, having him as a major leader would make all the best sense in the world - pronto!

If Washington were smart they would be talking to him IMMEDIATELY. I fear he is not even in their mental scopes.

It would be the way for the West to avoid direct recognition of Taliban and other freedom fighting groups.

Amin did not participate in that part but has stayed in Paris instead, keeping a keen eye on events.

The PERFECT SOLUTION to America's dilemma of a graceful exit strategy from the disastrous policies of this decade.

However, are policy makers too blinded to see such a golden opportunity? Usually.

I most certainly will write more about Amin and his contributions, because I'm so pleased you asked.

I was fearing that PF members are not even interested in such figures as he, and they know more about pop stars, movies, popular culture of West and East than their own great Afghan figure of this time.

I couldn't BELIEVE no one had heard of him, apparently, except his relatives, of course.

                              Laghmanking, or anyone:

Don't scream and yell in outrage, but I don't see any Durranis on the scene set up to rule. Their time is finished, at least at this critical era of history.

Time to change to smart and good Pashtuns from any tribe.
Those who are politically wise and experienced in dealing with Western European countries. From good families in the sense of SINCERE people, not historical wielders of power.
Those who are a million percent patriotic, proving their care for their country by having stayed with their people during the Soviet invasion and suffered all misery to fight those Shuravi.
How quickly people have forgotten that pivotal era!
The immense sacrifices made by Afghans at that time.
Very few came out of that with pristine reputations.
Amin Wardark & brother too are examples of these.
Able to relate to the West but only loyal to their own homeland.
Not full of politically correct words, such as some people in power in Kabul now who were terrible choices to run govts.
Instead, these Wardaks have a record of integrity and backing up their words with actions.
Always caring about the civilian population, for example, and tending to them.
                              Not just launching military operations.
                              This is unique.
there is much more to be said.

--What's this picture above? What is the meaning, a joke?

                                Fahd,

Thanks so much for saying that! It makes me feel better. I was fed up! And this was one reason too which I didn't express, but was angry about.

I feel lots better now that you care !

I get really upset when the memory of the GOOD gets trampled and only bad people are brought as icons for all to venerate. It's not fair and one of the mean tactics of evil to make sure no one ever hears about the excellent people who could be models for others.

Or too, the reputation gets ruined; that's another tactic used by evil. They spread bad words about a GOOD person.
One can usually assume that if the American and European media - is saying bad words about a person, that person is good. If the media praises that man or woman, he or she is bad! This is clear, even more so in this entire Afghan situation under American occupation.

Let me write up more about Amin on Monday, is that all right?

For sure, this is an absolute gem of an Afghan who should be taught about in the new regime's schools, Inshallah!
