I am preparing a a detailed report on the events of this conflict, might post it this or next month. You might have noticed that Pakistanis talk about it a a lot, emphasizing on "Pakistani tribals defended their lands from Afghan invaders".....things were not so black and white. Both Afghans and Pakistanis today are unaware of the fact , that portion of Bajauris which opposed Afghan lashkars and their local supporters, also attacked Punjab regiment of Pakistan army which entered into their territory, stating that army has no business here.Originally posted by Shapur View PostDid the ruler of Dir ask for the Afghan help to create his kingdom or was the whole thing planned by Afghan government in the first place?Last edited by Samandri; 06-04-2016, 03:04 PM.

To be honest I'm still wondering whether or not this event actually happened. Why exactly would the Afghan Gov send soldiers and tanks (according to the Pakistanis) over the border only to lose them? Did they plan to capture the area with such few resources? How did they supposedly not anticipate that the locals themselves would oppose their presence? Surely they would have been in contact with those sympathetic of the Afghan gov beforehand?Originally posted by Elite PakhtunI still remember those pieces of garbage asking US presidents, when they visit, stuff like "why can't we (India) teach them (Pakistan) a lesson?". Morr kus de ughaym.. f*cking indiot garbage. I f*cking hate them so f*cking much. Afkoonis jumping on indiot d*ck is f*cking annoying too.

these malik and khan change their loyalty over nine ruppay. through out tribal areas they have directly and indirectly benefited from government at the cost of locals. these stupid tribal malik also presented a tribal lungee to raheel sharif and nawaz sharif. they stood with army for monetary values in the name of peace process. i am happy they were slaughtered by talib.Originally posted by Samandri View Post

The Forgotten History of Afghanistan-Pakistan Relations by Daveed Gartenstein-Ross and Tara Vassefi
Pakistan’s historical and contemporary support for jihadi groups has caused US policy prescriptions over the past decade to focus prominently on the need to change Pakistan’s strategic orientation. In this article, the authors explore one aspect of Pakistan’s strategic calculations that has received insufficient attention in public debate: the degree to which Afghanistan’s aggressions against Pakistan have helped to shape the latter’s support for religious militant groups...

I don't know where you are getting your information from but it seems like the source is not very reliable and most likely wants to cause artificial problems between lar o bar. The kings do not represent the views of Pashtuns in Afghanistan just like Bashar Assad does not represent the views of Syrians. You can't hold the decision of a king against the whole community. Pashtuns are very independent and are not subjects of the kings. The same kings killed thousands of of Pashtuns in Afghanistan for political reasons so please don't turn this into a Lar aw Bar issue which is what some people with vested interests do.Originally posted by Peacelove View PostActually people in Fata and KP remember how they were left alone on the mercy of British to save Kabul..They remember what happened to them when once they migrated to Kabul..The more Amanullah is praised in Afghanistan the more people on this side will continue to remember what happened to them...This reminds the home is now Pakistan..They didn't listen to Bacha Khan baba also who we respect ..Everybody should see the pictures hoe elders welcome Nehru and how quite opposite to Jinnah..
Can you tell me which Pashtuns migrated to Kabul?
Amanullah khan has both supporters and opponents in Afghanistan, the seculars like him and religious don't. Amanullah khan is also respected by many secular types in Pakistan so I don't know what point you are trying to make here.

The people we call "Kabulis" are most likely Indians that adopted the farsi language. Many people think they are tajiks, but they neither look like typical tajiks nor have the meaner of typical tajiks. They are much darker skinned and the ones I know don't identify with tajiks, they identify as "Kabulis."

Thats because we Tajiks don't care so much about ethnicity. We are urban people not uneducated tribal nationalists. Many people in Herat don't even know the difference between Tajik and Persianspeaker. For most of Heratis Persianspeaker means "us" regardless ethnic background. Thats why Pashtuns in Herat are so well integrated into our society that most of them don't even bother to call themselves Pashtun and they are as proud Herati as a "Tajik". If you are a Pashtun from Kandahar for us you are a Kandahari not a Pashtun.Originally posted by khushal View PostThe people we call "Kabulis" are most likely Indians that adopted the farsi language.
