You gave an answer to a question and you want to divert. That does not work on me. Now be a man and provide sources for your answer unless you just grabbed from your arse. Did you grab it from your arse.
Ok, tell me what answer you are talking about. I'm not trying to divert the attention. And i am actually not a man, so i can't be a man. I'm a woman. :P

So tell, me what answer you are talking about and i will give you my reasoning and will try to find the sources if i can.

So a significant portion of the population thinks about raping a 17 year old girl?

                thats not what i implied

what i implied is that a significant element of the afghan population has no sympathy for a girl who runs away, is automatically inclined to think of her as being the guilty party, and there is an element of "shaming" the girl or considering her "impure" as a result of her actions

in a country where govt officials call womens shelters brothels, this shouldnt be too surprising

Yes you are right, don't bother with Khushal, he was born and raised in the West and don't know how people in Afghanistan are.
And I bet that disguting man did this just to show other girls if you run away tha same will happen to you.

I agree with everything you guys are saying, but saying that he lives in the west and doesn't know about afghanistan isn't right. I live in and grew up in america and I agree with what you guys are saying, not Khushal. He is just being that stereotypical afghan man that believes that it is always the women's fault.
They say the girl is at fault, but who did the raping? Last time i checked, it isn't a girl's fault if she is raped. Regardless of how she acts, how she dresses and who she is friends with, it never means she is "asking" to be raped. Stupid afghan mentality.

Not really, you guys are conditioned to think of your people as savages. This behavior that you are describing is everywhere. Teenage girls in the US and Canada running away from home is very common and usually end up being pimped by predators.

This disease has been plaguing the sub-continent for quiet some time now; its only due to all the media attention that we are finally realizing this is a genuine problem. Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and other countries in this part of the subcontinent have to seriously fight this on a war footing.

It is high time the rights and protection promised to a woman in our society get delivered, I see more and more bizarre news coming out of our countries and the part that worries me the most is that this has been going on forever and it is only now we are waking up to it. We must have a strong infrastructure to protect human rights and especially violence against women needs to be dealt with in the most strict manner possible.

More importantly we need serious introspection on why the men in these countries specifically are so mentally sick that they are willing to ruin someone's entire life. There are aspects of our culture that contribute to it indirectly and the way we are objectify women in the popular media mixed with certain cultural barriers contributes as well in creating a very harmful environment for the women in our society.
It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..
