Your complex is that to try to prove the other wrong even if if the other says 2+2=4. You will find many holes in this to prove you are something superior. Except in pushing Pashtuns in ignorance you will never agree with anyone in nay thing.

You yourself have stated the same fact that your job is to prove the other one wrong and to show them their place. If you were a rational person then you would be an activist of development, science, rationalism, liberalism, democarcy ,secularism which is the common path of all enlightened and rational people but you want Pashtuns to be pushed further in the darkness of ignorance, backwardness and poverty by following 1400 years old system which is not applicable anywhere in the world.

You are the worst enemy of Pashtuns I have ever seen. You hate Pashtunwali, you make Pashtuns and Pashto to be limited to few hundreds years and deprive them of their thousands of years of history before Islam.

Your saying that Soft Southern Dialect is the original Pashto dialect is not enough. Prove it with evidence.

Prove it that any allusions to ...Pakhta ...Pactyan ..Paktyune ...or any other variant probably has no relationship to Pashtuns;

Prove it dont just say it that we have done errantly. You are not God to send a Quran and that becomes truth. We have givene many references. You give few for your claim.

Writingof a langauge is one thing and its existence another thing. You know Gujari langauge spoken by hundreds of thousands of Gujjars even today does not have a single standard book or newspaper in pure Gujri alphabet. Do you think that no existence of writing in Gujri and many other small languages like in Africa etc even today means these langauges do not exist?

Pashtuns were nomadic people. There was no literacy so how they could write and read? Even Arabs did not have books before Quran except few poetry selections. You think Arabs came into being after Quran?

Pashto has borrowed words from many langauges but do you think each and every word of all these millions of words are derived from other languages? No . Majority of the words of Pashto are its own with some borrowed words. Do you think Yaghnobi or Soghdian are more important languages than Pashto for being more pure . No. Pashto is today spoken by more than 60 millions of people and is official and national language of a state.
Are you honest with your own self that 60 millions of Pashtuns with so many similarities, one language, culture etc just evolved in 1000 years? Do you have any other similar case that one ethnic group or race OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE evolved just in 1000 years?

You are a big fool. After such assessments you have I have lost all respect for you. You are the most irrational, illogical , prejudiced and biased person on this site. You are the worst enemy of Pashtuns. I will identify you from now onwards although I always try and will still try not to engage in personal discussions with any one.

Badlun ....breathe deeply .......go read some Osho or ramble nonsense about secularism

The only person who is saying "Well Said" ...Kushan Prince is known for being persistently wrong about everything regarding Pashtuns. The enemies of pashtuns are ones who fill their head with lies, unfactual claims and illogical and irrational Everything from promoting Osho to Mythological and Historically False claims about the Origins and History of Pashtuns you promote and keep trying to indoctrinate in the Pashtun consciousness. THE TRUE Enemies of PASHTUNS are the ones LIKE YOU Badlun who pretend TO Be Pashtun Naitionaliss but try to manipulate Pashtun insecurities about their self worth and identity crisis to promote IMperialist ideologies like Secularism and bring Pashtuns under the submission of Imperialists once and for all using Imperialist stooges and agents like Osho to help brainwash people.

I AM an activist for Science, development and education. That's all I have ever been doing on this site is debate against ignorant fools who deny Evolution or people who reject a Modern scientific understanding of Nature. HOWEVER we don't need secularism as a political institution governing society to accomplish any of that. Afghanistan had secular since the 1920's and nothing accomplished. There's a difference between Modern Advancement and secularism; the two ideas should never be Assumed to be the same The fact that MOST Black countries are Secularist but poor and most White Countries are secularist but Rich is evidence that secularism is really a Strategy to maintain poverty by giving false hope that copying the societies of Imperialists will bring prosperity. We need Modern advancements and education; but not secularism; Keep that for the Imperialists that's not for us. Technology, Science and Medicine, those are for us.

Again because you're Uneducated and possibly a brainwashed and intellectual defective person, You did not read or understand my argument. I said that NOT ONLY does Pashto lack textual evidence it also lacks HISTORICAL documentation. There is no reference in History pre-dating Al Biruni, Fereshta and Historians of the Ghaznawid era which accounts for the existence of Pashtuns or their language. ....the LITERARY evidence came into existence MUCH later around the 15th century. Before then we have evidence of Pashtuns but not much on their language itself. Now for your evidence; I know Abdul Hai Habibi comments about the issue of Southern Pashto being the original Pashto dialect but since Others doubt Abdul Hai Habibi's authenticity because of the issue regarding Pata Khizana and its possible fabrication.

Here is evidence from OTHER Linguists of Iranian languages on the issue. namely Michael Henderson who is very respected in this field.

Here it is saying the Ancient sounds of the Ancestral Languages of Pashto, namely Avestan, the ZHEY and SSHH sound are retained in Pashto; since Southern Pashto or Kandahari and maybe Wazirwola are the only ones that possess these sounds. Then their dialects have to be the most ancient. So there is the proof that any type of hard sound like KHHHA ..K in relation to words like PASHTO or PASHTUN are recent and not original.

This means that words like Pactyan and Pakhta or Paktyune would most likely not have any relationship to Pashtuns what so ever. It is just a fantasy for the desperate and ignorant. Soghdian and Yaghnobi whether important or not is an irrelevant issue; the facy is these are the primary Historically Documented languages in currently Pashtun inhabited areas, which can only imply that whatever Pashto is today, probably derives from these languages as they are the Intermediary between Avestan and Pashto. So your Pashto fairytale is a big lie and self delusion Forget about pashtunwali; Any Tribal code that teaches you can trade Women to settle disputes is an enemy of Progress.

Confirmation Bias is exactly claiming words like Pactyan are some how connected to being Pashtun because they are remotely similar, would be.

Saying that Historical evidence doesn't show any confirmation that any of that is true is the EXACT opposite of confirmation bias; because you're Looking at ALL the relevant material not just some of it.

Anything that comes out of your mouth is remotely laughable. You claim Sodghians and Khwarizmins, a people who are miles above the Amu Darya are somehow connected to Afghanistan and Pashtuns. Saying crap like that with absolutely NO proof will put you in the spotlight for EVIDENCE. Quoting from Wikipedia or irrelevant scholars like Habibi isn't getting your point across either, you claim Bakhtarys are connected to Bactrians just because of name similarities and when i say Pakhtuns are the same people as Pactyans you get all defense and say no. Therefore you INDEED suffer from conformation bias since you always want to be right.

I suggest you lay of the mushrooms because you don't know anything about Afghans.

You realize Abdul hai Habibi is one of the MAJOR Native Afghan PASHTUN Scholars on Afghan linguistics right? Unless you want to reinforce that you're ignorant and possibly retarded ...I'd rethink what you're saying.

Do you ever fact check any of your statements? I Mean EVER. this is why nothing you say ever has credibility. The Khwarezm empire went all the way to Farah and Herat, places where Pashtuns were seated.

have a look

Maybe you should be following your own advice about laying off shrooms. Wait, I guess you're just naturally stupid. and ...wrong ...about EVERYTHING. I mean Literally EVERYTHING/

About the Bakhtyari thing; I never claimed they were IN FACT Bactrians; I said that if you're going by "Word Similarity" Bakhtitari is closer sounding to Bactrian than Pashtun and thus by that line of argument; then it would be MORE LIKELY they're connected than us. I blame your asinine accusation based on your poor reading comprehension, ignorance and lack of education.

The only one thanking your posts is Khurasani the extremist Salafi Talib who calls democracy shirk and an enemy of Pashtuns who is adamant on making them religious bigots to remain backward and thus other non Pashtun Khurasanis rule over them.

I am a person with diversified interests as any one normally have different interests and pursuits in life. Spiritually I follow Osho and Sufism but politically I follow democracy and secularism. Religiously I follow Islam while culturally and socially I follow Pashtunwali.

Try to understand Pashtunwali from the acronym Paxtun in simple way. P=pat(honor/gallantry), x=shegarha(sympathy, social work),t=tura(sword/bravery),u/w=wafa(loyalty)n=nang(honor) along with other features like jerga, mla tarh, mrasta, teega, chegha. Customs like swara are not pristine Pashtunwali and such traditions have to be eliminated in light of the modern human rights as polygamy and making woman half of man has to be eliminated from the so called Sharia.

My program for Pashtuns is one of the enlightenment, democarcy, keeping religion to religious aspects of life not everything(secularism). Briefly the way any of G8 country became developed, the same way I want to see Pashtunland developed.

If you do not separate religion from economy, culture and politics then how can you think of a sharia based developed country in today's world? Any model? My model is that all developed countries in the world are secular. The only better country in Muslim world is Turkey which is also secular.

You may call me uneducated inspite of my master degrees from foreign universities and working in UN on a highly important position.

It means if a race or ethnic group does not have textual, literary and historic documentation then they cannot exist. Many other races like Gujars and many African and South American exist from centuries or millennia but may be a historian has not reached there to document them historically.

But many Chinese, Greeks like Herodotus and Sanskrit scholars mention Pashtuns to be thousands years old people so why you do not consider it historical proof? Just think over that a nation of more than 60 millions people cannot be evolved in just 1000 years.

You just want to belittle Pashtuns to be a recent phenomenon and limited to Islamic era and they should not explore their non Islamic roots of thousands years.

Your quotation does talk of Pashto phonemes but never say that which dialect is earlier which later. Please just understand this very simple fact that the letter khin exists in both hard and soft dialects and it might have emerged at the same time. The difference is not that of KHE and Shin of Arabic that SH came into being earlier and Khe later.

No, khin/shin in Pashto is the same letter and the same letter cannot come before and after. All these sounds are one letters just different shades or phonemes. Not that Pashtuns first started saying SHA and then KHA. If this was the case then SHA should have been now disappeared and only Kha remained to be the later stage.

You are totally wrong in this aspect of denying Pashtuns to be 1000 years old. Read a little more please. You may be good in logical argumentation but it does not mean you start denying realities and axioms.

politically I follow democracy and secularism.
You follow secularism but not democracy; only real Democracy is Islam.

Religiously I follow Islam while culturally and socially I follow Pashtunwali.
So you practice Pashtunwali ; so yiou rape women in forced marriages which is harram in Islam and you trade them in swara? Shame on you then; you're the most backwards thinking person. At least in Shari'ah women have rights. Muhammad(saw) protected the honor of women. Pashtunwali degrades it.

u/w=wafa(loyalty)n=nang(honor.
Wafa is an Arabic word not a Pashto word; this is evidence that the Pashtun culture is much more recent than you would have us believe.

Customs like swara are not pristine Pashtunwali and such traditions
Then ow come Pashtuns all the way from farthest parts of Pashtun inhabited lands practice it? That means that it is naturally apart of Pashtunwali and not just a corruption. We know this because these practices were also done by ancient people in Pre-Islamic times in this region; it originated from Hephtalite, Scythian and Turkic customs. Nomadic people of central asia practiced these things. So it is actually the original Pashtunwali not the alteration.

and making woman half of man has to be eliminated from the so called Sharia.
This is a lie promoted by Saudi Arabian Wahhabists and ignorant secularists which Myself and others have debunked many times. Firstly the verse in the Qur2an which is construed to imply that deals with only financial transcations, Second, this is not a rule of Shari'ah; this was a recommendation in lieu of the social conditions during the time it was revealed. Islamic history shows this was never applied as an Islamic Law because during the Reign of Khalifa Umar ibn Khattab(ra) he chose a woman to become the Price Regulator of the Markets in Madinah.

This is simply a product of your ignorance and lack of education. Islam is the most women friendly ...Pashtunwali is about hating women.

riefly the way any of G8 country became developed,
This is nothing but rubbish and lies; Most of the G8 countries were former imperialist societies and Europeans;Only Japan is an exception because they were invested in by the United States after their economy was destroyed. They're a project of Imperialist societies. Why do we not see any Secular black African countries, why all these white countries? In reality secularism is a new tool to keep poverty and control of economically disadvantaged countries by economic mean.
My model is that all developed countries in the world are secular. The only better country in Muslim world is Turkey which is also secular.

Your model is faulty because it ignores the historical underpinnings of how the so called "Developed countries" got developed; through plundering. It also ignores the fact that MOST of the world's countries and economies are Secular and MOST Secular countries are predominantly poor. Only small fraction are wealthy.

Turkey is only secular in name now; it is slowly transitioning into an Islamic society through gradual process. In fact Turkey's economic boom happened under an Islamist regime. Same with Malaysia. All these are evidence that Secularism has nothing to do with development or growth. We don't need it . Just science and technology, no secularism.
You may call me uneducated inspite of my master degrees from foreign universities and working in UN on a highly important position.
If you had masters degrees, why do you make such errors in your reasoning and logic and more over get basic facts incorrect? This means either you're lying or you have a Mail- Order degree. Since you're a Pakistani national., this is known to be common.

It means if a race or ethnic group does not have textual, literary and historic documentation then they cannot exist.
It's not as simple as that. The People of Central Asia are well documented; how can they have Such a Large population of people in an area like Afghanistan where numerous peoples would have made contact with them and yet NOT ONE WORD is said about them. That is impossible. If Pashtuns were remote like the Kalash or Nuristanis I'd understand, but even Nuristanis have some historical reference.

Many other races like Gujars and many African and South American exist from centuries or millennia but may be a historian has not reached there to document them historically.
You cannot even begin to compare a remote people like the South American Indians to people who existed on the Silk Road which frequented by TRAVELERS from ALL OVER THE WORLD who kept historical documentation of the region. Not even Ibn Battuta mentioms Pashtuns, he says a clan of Persians known as Afghans, which means that Pashtuns are derived from other people who were not originally Pashto speaking.

But many Chinese, Greeks like Herodotus and Sanskrit scholars mention Pashtuns to be thousands years old people so why you do not consider it historical proof? Just think over that a nation of more than 60 millions people cannot be evolved in just 1000 years.
Not one mentions Pashtuns; all claims of Pakhta and Pactyan are speculation and do not match the Lingsuistic proof that Pashto never had a hard dialect until recently.

60 Million people cannot evolve in 1000 years? Now I know for a fact you don't have a degree. America is a Nation of nearly 300 Million and it evolved in less than 300 years.

You just want to belittle Pashtuns to be a recent phenomenon and limited to Islamic era and they should not explore their non Islamic roots of thousands years.
That's just what the reality of history .....All your Greek, Chinese and Indian references are just attempts of trying to force the word Pashtun into Tangentially similar sounding words which are actually unrelated. This is garbage and bad scholarship. No one who is educated would accept such claims.

Well think about it for a moment; What the characteristics of Southern Dialect? the retroflexives phonemes; What has SHH and ZHEY retroflexives Southern Pashto from Kandahari and the Wazirwolas. It doesn't have to say "this dialect is this and this dialect is that". It Just has to describe its properties. The properties here is retained by Southern Pashto. Your reasoning is very bad logic; Just because new dialects emerge does not mean automatically the old one would die out completely. How long a dialect lives depends on who often it is in use. For people of Eastern Afghanistan, SHHH lost use. and it became KHHH

The same phenomenon is evident in Germany as well, the Bavarians speak the original Soft german Hoch Deustch and Berliners speak Hard German. With hard KHH sound.

I don't care about your Osho; anyone can see by critical thinking that Osho is garbage. Secularism is a tool by Imperialists ...so your interest in Secularism must mean you're an agent of Imperialism.

So Badlun,
Have you read anything about the soft "Sh" Pashto predating the hard "Kh" Pashto and if so can you explain how that conclusion was made. Thanks.

Hard pashto predates the soft pashto by a long shot.

You really have a hard time with analogies it seems. and you're wrong, gravity cannot, in FULL be explained in a few sentences. That's why you need the Maths for that.

regardless your argument doesn't hold. Not being able to explain it doesn't make it speculative. and Furthermore I already posted Linguistic references, I guess their argument is that the Phonetic characteristics of the languages pre-dating Pashto carry those "Shhh and "Zheey" sounds and since Pashto transitioned from those languages the SHH and ZHEY sounds would have to be the most ancient thus Southern Pashto is the oldest.

Then why do linguistics show otherwise?
