Actually this issue should have been raised by the minority but the minority in afghanistan has never objected to this rule of identity or identification. The voice in most cases have been raised by those who either belong to the mjority Pashtuns or are not even the official citizens of Afghanistan and who are Pashtuns of the lower Occupied Afghan land like Afzal khan lala etc. The Identification rule based on ethnicity was first introduced by Soviet Union in Afghanistan, there was no such rule before.Originally posted by ijaz yousafzai View PostWith the same logic, the " Centralist Pakistani" advocate assimilation of a " Pakistani Nation" from different nations residing in Pakistan. Will you approve the same argument for Pakhtuns to dissolve in " Pakistani Nation".
But in the case of Pakistan it is the very history of the creation of this country which is the obstacle to the formation of a Pakistan nation. As the whole world knows Baluch and Pashtun ethnic groups were forcefully merged with Punjab etc.
Ijaz saib Afghani is the name of Afghan currency and is not the name of a nation. We are afghans as we all have proclaimed this in our domicile forms and our ID cards, though during the MMA government they changed the format of the domicile forms and removed the ethnicity option.I am a Pakhtun/ Afghan residing in Peshawar. I am not an Afghani but Afghan. Similarly a Tajik of Afghanistan is an Afghani but not an Afghan. This is the viable correction to the appellation " Afghan", which has been incorrectly adopted in Afghanistan.
Anyway we still can call ourselves as the citizen of occupied Afghan land and I personally do this.
With regards.Last edited by khyaal; 07-22-2010, 06:57 PM.

Afghanistani can be a better word for all citizens of Afghanistan including Pashtuns(Afghans), Tajiks, Uzbeks etc while Afghan may be only specified for Pashtuns as it is , was and will be. Pashtun-Afghan , Tajik etc should be an ethnic or racial identification while Afghanitsani , Pakistani , Irani, tajikistani etc may be political term for the citizens of these countries.Originally posted by khyaal View PostActually this issue should have raised by the minority but the minority in afghanistan has never objected to this rule of identification. But for this the constitution of Afghanistan has to be amended where Afghan is used for all the ethnic groups living in Afghanistan including Pashtuns, Tajiks, Uzbeks etc.

In an articificial country like pakistan you have only one word (false) Pakistani nation, and in a nation state like afghanistan you want to change even the Pashto linguistic rules and make experiments with sacred words. Can you change your name form Khushal to Khushali etc. Will this be a correct change according to pashto linguistic rule.Last edited by khyaal; 07-22-2010, 06:58 PM.

I have read all posts on this issue. Can some one explain this to me please.Originally posted by khyaal View PostThis is complete insanity. Did you read my last two posts?
1. Whether Pashtun and Afghan are used only for Pashtuns or not historically, anthropologically, racially , poetically etc
2. How can Tajiks or Uzbeks can become Pashtuns or Afghans racially or ethnically if we call them Afghans politically.
3. What is the problem if we use Afghanistani for all the citizens of Afghansitan and use Afghan only for Pashtuns. There are many tajiks and other ethnicities who dont want to be called Afghans as they know the fact that Afghans are Pashtuns and Pashtuns are Afghans and they dont to be called by the name which does not represent their ethnicity and there are many Pashtuns who dont want to call Tajiks as Afghans because simply they are not Afghans.

I dont know about which linguistic rule is talked about exactly. Afghanistani like Irani, Pakistani, Indian, German etc can be used as a proper noun for the citizens of Afghanistan. Afghan or Pashtun is used for the ethnicity as a proper noun whicle Afghanistani for the citizens of Afghanistan. If we can use Afghani for the Afghanistani currency as a proper noun then why not Afghanistani for the people of Afghanistan. If Afghan can be changed into Afghani why not also in Afghanistani.Originally posted by khyaal View PostIn an articificial country like pakistan you have only one word (false) Pakistani nation, and in a nation state like afghanistan you want to change even the Pashto linguistic rules and make experiments with sacred words. Because unlike Pakistan it is not an artificial creation of the Western Imperial powers, and it is not a forceful amalgam of the occupied lands of different nations. Afghanistan is a harmonious mixture of different ethnic groups who lived on this land for centuries and have passed through the same period of miseries and joys, unlike Punjab who were the bootlickers of the British, and the British awarded them the lands of Baluch and Pashtun nations as reward for their loyalty.Originally posted by osho View PostI have read all posts on this issue. Tajik, Uzbek and Hazaras and Pashtun are afghans unlike your Muhajir, Punjabis, Sindhis, Seraikis and Baloch who including Pashtuns all hate from punjab and have demands for self rule. Muhajirs are enemies of sindhis, Pashtun, Punjabis. Sindhis are enemies of Punjabis, and Punjabis are enemies of Pashtuns and Baloch.
But anyway field negroe has to perform his duty.Last edited by khyaal; 07-22-2010, 06:59 PM.

The name you have just mentioned is a mixture of urdu/hindi or english rules. In english the people of iran are called iranian and irani in urdu/hindi, the people of india are called indian in english and hindustani in urdu/hindi and hindustanian in Pashto.Originally posted by osho View PostI dont know about which linguistic rule is talked about exactly. My imbecile friend! You have been repeatedly told that afghani is the name of currency and not nation.

@osho, I will give you another example. in Pakistan Punjab's language is Punjabi, that of Sindh is Sindhi, Seraikistan has Seraiki language but the language of Pakhtunkhwa is Pashto and not Pashtoi. We have altoghether different syntactic rule and this naming rule permits only the word afghan for this nation which fits perfectly in Pashto linguistic structure.

@osho! btw, why do you so insist on attaching the letter "i" with the word afghan? Have acquired this habit in the Paaki brainwash factory? Does it give you some sort of satisfaction when you speak or write Pashto words according to urdu/hindi rule?Last edited by khyaal; 07-23-2010, 07:19 AM.
