The Pashtun-Israleite connection theory, is wrong and has been dubunked many times here. Like Khusan Prince said, say that in Afghanistan or Pakistan you will get in trouble. The theory itself starts all from the similarties of names and geographical area. I remember watching a video where the guy said, we have a clan named Musa Khel meaning Children of Moses, this is infact wrong, as it would be have to called Musazai or something along those lines, Musa Khel means clan or house of Moses. My Pashto is bad but I'm pretty sure I'm right. Anywho like stated earlier we most likley decent from the ancient Bactrian, thus making us Indo-European.

At least disprove it with actual facts though, not false information. Kushan Prince is trying to disprove it through deception saying impulsive things up like 'King Saul did not exist'. Really? So you do not believe in the Qur'an? Either you ignore facts or you deny them saying foolish things, all just to fulfill your selfish whims to be called Aryan.

As a member of the Musakheel tribe myself, i can tell you that after the arrival of islam, a lot of pashtun tribe names became islamized like isakhel or muskheel. So ofcourse i would see why phatehtic americans might think we have semtic blood because of the name change. Also joey another theoey on pashtuns is that they descend from the ancient Aryans who arrived in central Asia in the 20th century BC. Also the Musakheels are a subtribe of the great kakar tribe who was one of Qais's son.

King Saul is mentioned in the Quran as being the commander of Israel. But the thing is I see no connection what so ever with Pashtuns and the Jews. I'm half Daudzai from my Fathers side, I've had someone relate my tribe with Jewish orgins saying "ermahgerd Daudzai? Like son of David, lyke ur ancestors were totaally Jewish" No. Just because some tribal names are David, Musa, and so on does not mean that we decent from Jews. With that logic it means that every Musa, or Daud is a Jew which is infact not true.

            Kushan Prince,

Qais was the 37th grandson of King Saul. You mention Qais yet you fail to recognize who he was. Lol..

Anywho, I'd rather believe Ahmad Shah Baba, Khushal Khattak, or Nazo Anaa rather than you. No offense. I'm off for now.

My friends, its a better chance that the war between Palestine and Israel get resolved than these two debates on the origins of Pashtuns. But if we are Israelites then fine, our arms are open ready to embrace any Israeli as our brothers if they want to join us as Muslims, other than that our Semitic past don't mean a thang.

I personally believe the other theory, seems more scientific and logical.

No offense but I don't know what you're babbling about. No one has said anything about tribal names. You must be talking to yourself, lol.

Tribal names have been used as a way to back this theory up, if you had read it more clearly you would've known.

Did Ahmad Shah Baba claim to be hebrew? No

I don't what made people believe that Pashtuns have jewish origins when there language, the way they look and their customs are the same as their neighbors. just so you know Joey, the claim of Pashtuns being jews was brought up by the British during the first Anglo-Afghan war because of some hat.

There are some theories of Qais being a descendant of kanishka, a Kushan king but even that is far fetched. Anyways isn't Qais an Arab name? so how could the so called ancestor of Pashtuns have an Arab name?

You speak from an outsider's viewpoint then. Pashtuns have never tried to "back the theory up" by referencing tribal names. Pashtun elders are in possession of family trees profiling the genesis of Pashtuns. I would rather believe them than you.

*sigh* Watch this video Israelite origin of the pashtuns and pathans - YouTube he is using names as a justification to back his theory up, you can't really back a theory up with just names.

Kushan, there is so much gibberish in this post of yours alone that I don't even know where to start. It actually is making me angry now. Some of you can be so willfully narrow-minded. The theory was *NOT* brought up by the British. The British made record of it. Do you actually believe these things you are writing? Yes, Nazo Anaa narrated the descendency from Qais and she was the mother of Mirwais Hotak. Likewise, the Afghan royal family which began with Ahmad Shah Durrani has always claimed this origin. These are basic facts known to many. Khushal Khattak's brother wrote about the Israelite past in his book of history on Pashtuns. Even you mention the name of Qais when it suits you but you conveniently ignore where HE was from. This might sound harsh but Pashtuns know no other history than the Israelite one. That is why all Pashtuns trace their origin to Qais. Qais is an Arabic name, oh really? Do you think Arabic is very different from Hebrew? Regardless to say Qais's real name was pronounced Kaish. I am wasting all this time teaching you, but that is your job, not mine. Instead of arguing, do some research and learning of your own then start debating because right now, it seems you know close to nothing and are only trying to believe whatever seems most appealing to you even if it means saying things that aren't true.

I have never read about any other 'theory' being accepting regarding Qais except that he was descended from King Saul. Knowing your track record, I choose to believe this too is more false information. No Pashtun claims descendency from Kanishka.

according to you all these pashtun tribes and subtribes have no historical ground? so just from no where pashtun started to exist? or may be they were dropped from the sky?

The theory of Pashtuns being isrealites is complete rubbish and can get you in serious trouble if you bring it up in Afghanistan. Like I said before pashtuns are an indo European people while arabs are semetic. The two are not related in anyway. The only thing they share is religon and that's it.
You are also forgetting that to people not from that area that we look exactly the same.
