My family elders have always told me that we are Arabs, in fact they had a genealogy/lineage book on their family which they lost in the wars while migrating to pakistan.
Is it actually true? I dont know. I may do a genetic test one of these days to see if there is any truth to this claim, not that it matters much.

The theory of Pashtuns being isrealites is complete rubbish and can get you in serious trouble if you bring it up in Afghanistan. Like I said before pashtuns are an indo European people while arabs are semetic. The two are not related in anyway. The only thing they share is religon and that's it."Revenge is a dish best served cold".

Um, no. In Afghanistan, some tribal elders have records of the family tree going all the way back to King Saul. Many great historical Pashtuns such as Nazo Anaa (Mirwais Hotak's mom), Khushal Khan Khattak's family, and the royal family of Afghanistan all related this origin. In addition, as I said there are still elders that have this knowledge. Actually, there is even a documentary about it on Youtube where a researcher interviews some elders. I would rather believe Pashtuns than what some bogus Western historians make up. It is also related in hadith by the Prophet Muhammad SAW and many Pashtun customs are Jewish like levirate marriages and placing pebbles on graves which other Afghans don't practice. Many or most Pashtuns also look very Jewish.Originally posted by Kushan Prince View PostJoey,

King Saul didn't exist LOL. He was a complete myth created by jews and i have no idea how even relates to Pashtuns. Anyways recent Pashtun genetic tests show that they carry R1A blood type which ORIGINATES from central Asia. Also i don't know of any afghan customs where they place pebbles on gravestones.Originally posted by Joey_Gladstonezai View PostUm, no. In ahadith? really? strange because I would have thought the people at the time didn't even know who Pashtun people were.Originally posted by Joey_Gladstonezai View PostUm, no. King Saul didn't exist? King Saul is mentioned numerous times in the Qur'an. He was described as the poor but mighty leader of Israelites during the era of Goliath. I hope next time you say something like that, you actually confirm what you say. King Saul is known as Talut in Arabic.Originally posted by Kushan Prince View PostKing Saul didn't exist LOL. And you were born in Canada. Pashtuns do still practice pebbles on graves. It is a common thing among women. Trust me.
What irritates me the most is how some of you talk out of nowhere just for the sake of it. Very immature."Do not waste water even if you were at a running stream."-Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

Manzareh, if you do your own research, you will discover there are not one but many ahadith pertaining to tribes from 'Khorasan' that are descended from Qais. The Prophet (saw) refers to them as the sons of Aaron and the Bani Israel who will fill the ranks of the Messiah's army.
Pashtuns did not exist 1400 years ago? So they suddenly dropped down from the sky some time after that, right."Do not waste water even if you were at a running stream."-Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
