Marathas were not able to expand into Punjab or further north west. Sikhs from Patiala rulers stopped Marathas trying to enter Punjab.

I'm often virulently against all forms of discrimination, ethno-centrism and racism but in the case of Hindus and the broader cultural sphere that exists east of the Indus - I fail. I admit my sin, I harbor very intense feelings towards these people to say the least. I could fill a small book with my critique of their culture, mentality and the society that it has fostered. I'm honestly, and I'm not merely insulting these people out of personal spite, convinced that nearly half of them suffer some mild level of mental retardation. Exhibit A - the above quoted post regarding registering Afghan men as sex offenders. Exhibit B - the fact that such stunts are relatively mundane among these people. And on top of it all, this talking head represents one of the most misogynistic cultures on the planet. A culture that in many instances even today, sees no moral consequence in murdering infants based upon gender. Perhaps he should examine the lesser discussed but definitely present underbelly of Hindu culture before expanding his horizons to Afghanistan.

How sad that one should have objections to the wrong doings of society for reasons other than finding such acts ethically and morally wrong.
You don't have a problem with the casting system or Muslims being discriminated against in your respective societies but are quick to mention them here so you could prove yourself better than each other. It's very rare to see people standing up for the rights of those who are not the followers of a similar religion as them. This humanity and goodness only arises with in them when it concerns them directly.
Besides, if a person's perception of reality is so distorted that they constantly refuse to check with facts then maybe you should let them at it. What have you to lose??
